Went here for dinner while staying in Zanzibar stonetown (note there are two Emerson hotels so it is the spice one you want). Delicious 5 course meal for $40 - outstanding food quality and catered to dietary needs (one of us doesn't eat shellfish which they happily substituted with beef and then chicken). Very nice cocktails while watching the sunset... More

Kick of an incredible evening with sun downers in this old colonial style hotel overlooking the rooftops of Zanzibar. Dinner is served at 19.00, each night a new set 5 course menu full of surprises for your taste-buds. The restaurant is small and popular so it's advisable to book well in advance. Russel was very helpful - accommodating our request... More

Having cocktails to the sounds of the call to prayer as the sun sets, whilst overlooking the rooftops of Stone Town is not only evocative, romantic but quite special. Food a treat - just enough at each course to get the tastebuds going and the stomach satisfied. Staff friendly and the wine list although not long has the right balance.... More

This tiny restaurant perched on top of a traditional stone town converted into a beautiful hotel only had 12 tables and a fish based menu. The five course dinner is a subtle discovery of fusion cuisine from the region. The service is simply perfect! Make sure to book in advenue, to take a cardigan with you as it gets a... More

Dear Dansira, What a wonderful review. Thank you. Our Five Course, Seafood based 'Taste Safari' Menu is changed every day, so always fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced. The only thing we import is our Wine! If our Diners get chilly we have a supply of silk shawls on request to keep the sea breeze at bay! More

We have eaten in lots of places in Stonetown on several visits but the food was never as good as here. The setting is beautiful as well. Clear proof that even with limited ingredients you can make 5 star food. Only downside was it took quite some time. But hey, this is Tanzania.

Thank you for your lovely compliments. Always good to hear that our Diners enjoy the setting of our A la Carte Restaurant, The Secret Garden, hidden away and secluded from the busy Kazbah. Thank you also for letting us know that you had to wait a while too long for you meal. We value your feedback. Chef and the Team... More

Well worth the effort to find the place and give a deposit before the meal to secure the booking. It was quite windy on the rooftop but we had a fantastic evening as the food was awesome

Beautiful place, great food. In the middle of town and somewhat hard to find but just ask a local and they'll point you in the right direction or give them a dollar and they'll take you there. Nice view across the rooftops to all areas from the rooftop restaurant/bar that serves alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails.
