Average to below average food. gallettes were very simple and the poulet roti was completely bland, tough and dry. Wine sampler was okay, escargot was nice. The salad was plain, good dressing, walnuts were a bit old. Service was good and food came out without too much time. Nice location. Bottom line; sit for a glass of wine then leave... More

Nothing to write home about, but reasonable priced, decent food, can’t be criticised too much, and, when taking into account the setting, a medieval square, I’d have to say that I’d recommend it. Better than leaving my entire wallet somewhere else. Good value for the money. Friendly staff, but a little disorganized – as it was the height of the... More

I've eaten in some terrible places before, but this place really did take the gold medal for being the worst food available. We came to St Emilion thinking we'd be in for some good wine and good food, what we got was the exact opposite. I'm sure there are many places to eat around here, but if you can help... More

Staying close by and walked into town and stopped here for lunch, really good selection of food with choice two menus from burgers & omelettes through too steaks and super choice salads. Good selection of beers and wines, had luch on the terrace on the square and service was excellent. Can't fault it and would recommend for a lovely leisurely... More

We had to wait 40 minutes to give our order, then 30 minutes for the food. The waiter was downright rude, which really spoilt the experience for us (there were other helpful, pleasant waiters there, but we weren't lucky). When the food came it was delicious, the wine wonderful, and the setting superb.

Place du Marche provides excellent seating in a square served by a number of restaurants. With a view of the Église Monolithe de Saint-Émilion, the tower above, and people casually strolling the village. June was a great month to visit. We passed through a month later and were stunned by the crowds in the square and at the restaurant. The... More

The umbrella shaded eating area on the lower terrace in St Emilion is the Bar de La Poste with food and drink being ferried by the always on-the-go waiters and waitresses across the extremely busy with pedestrians cobbled street. It's an entertainment in itself watching them expertly weave their way through the ever moving crowds with armfuls of plates or... More

The terrace looks nice with the church at the side. The staff was ok but we didn't like the food. I wouldn't recommend.

We went here for lunch as most restaurants don't serve after 1:45pm. Pizza was okay. Decent beer selection too. Service was very slow and I had to ask couple times for bill. I wouldn't go here if I had other choices.

We stopped off here at this busy square. The menu looked appealing so it was this and the attractive terrace seating that sold us. We explained to the waiter that we were pressed for time he took note and the order and food arrived within 20-25 mins. In between all that it was extremely busy and the staff did a... More
