Not too expensive, and the food is of good quality. The service was very good, and our wait staff was patient and friendly. All the food was presented well in a lovely setting.

We have had dinner here a 4 or 5 times during our visits to this area over the last few years. They offer traditional French dishes both al la carte and fixe prix menus. The owner/manager waited on our table the last two visits – very friendly and helpful person. With each visit the food for our entire party was... More

We have previously found this restaurant reliable, a good place for beef, and on 22 June 2014 had one of the best meals of our lives here. The Boss that day was talking to a friend while cooking cote de boeuf at arms length in the fire, before carving it into big slices and serving it up. He asked us... More

Total surprise in the lovely Provencal village if Gemenos. Very good three-course set meal at €15. In particular, loved the rabbit main course.

My husband and I stopped at Le Fer a Cheval for lunch en route from Toulon to Avignon. The place was crowded and service was very slow. The starter was a small glass of mashed avocado topped with a creamy cheese concoction, very tasty. We both ordered the camembert plate, which was melted cheese wrapped in aluminum foil with charcuterie... More

I liked the octopus salad. My partner liked the tartar dishes. The building is beautiful, very old. Nice wrought iron chairs.

Very typical French menu and food, which was a little heavy and overall a bit expensive (though may be that's France). Good service and a pleasant outdoor canopy.

We had a few lunches here on our June 2014 holiday. They had a canopied outdoor area where service was quick and friendly and the fillet steaks we had (cooked a point or med-rare) were very good. We also had a formule lunch for about 14 euros one day, chicken liver salad to start, and tartare de bouef with lots... More

Ate with a business colleague during a road trip. Food good, generous quantity, but not outstanding for the price paid. Service quite friendly and attentive.

Ordinary. Only came for lunch, so ordered from the mid-day menu; perhaps only fair to judge the food from that stand-point. Just ok, service was ok, we never went back.
