Great location on the waterfront. Very good and prompt service. Plenty of space between tables. Good range of food and wines. Prices were reasonable. The seafood chowder was excellent and ranked with the best my wife and I had ever tasted. As the chowder was a generous serving we only ordered entrees as a main course. The entrees (steamed mussels... More

I have dined at this establishment previously and have always found it to be of the utmost high standard. Recently, we bumped into a friend and just wanted a coffee and a warm place to sit. Every coffee shop closed but the Salt Bar and Restaurant had just opened. Even though we only wanted coffees and fries, it was not... More

The meal was reasonable but overpriced - would expect a slightly more tasty and flavoursome meal for the price.

Fantastic service and food. I had the Hapuka and my partner eye fillet steak - both above average in presentation and flavour. Finished by sharing Death by Chocolate which was devine.

Last minute decision to dine here and it was going to be a busy night for them. There were no tables available but a very friendly team seated us in the bar which was fine by us. The meals were delicious. My steak was just right and very tasty. All in all a great place.

Just here in Whitianga for the night, so we really didn't know where to go and hadn't researched TripAdvisor to even get some hints! It was a real last minute decision to go to Salt, which is next door to the pub. We weren't disappointed. Right from the start, with the warm welcome, seated in the room with the blazing... More
