While the sushi at Nanase is better than typical sushi restaurants in Westchester, it is NOT worth $85 per person for what they serve. I can understand that with only three tables, they want to create an experience, but the quality and quantity of the food does not justify their prices.

Its cheaper than flying to Japan for a meal! I am so grateful for the dedication and excellence of sushi master Yoshimichi Takeda. Perhaps the diners that do not appreciate him, should stick to eating at Red Plum. I'm from Honolulu and grew up eating the freshest sashimi. My uncle would bring it from the ocean to our table. This... More

Close your eyes and reopen them and you'll think you are somehere in Japan. Excellent food at japanese gastronomy standard. Highly recommend the special menus only available if booked in advance. Very limited seating (3 tables) so reservation is a must. no walk ins. Unlike anything you can find in nyc, leaving alone outside nyc.

High quality sushi is a simple pleasant environment. Conveniently located in downtown Whits Plains near shopping. They have things in addition to sushi. Next time I will try something.

My husband and I have tried many times to get into Nanase, and we finally lucked out or so we thought. I'll start with the positive. The appetizers of Bonito salad, Japanese pickled vegetables and cod were excellent. It was all downhill from there. We asked for a Sake recommendation. The chef shook some rice granules behind my husbands head... More

I am a long time customer of Nanase and have dined at all the top Japanese places in the city including Yasuda, 15East and Masa. The reviewers who rate this place on a low scale or fault the chef for manners and question the price, I simply do not agree with. The chef is not brimming over with joy and... More

There is sushi, and then there is the intersection of culture, custom, honor and integrity that come together - also called sushi. The former is ubiquitous, and a decent way to enjoy a light and reasonably healthy meal. The latter, reverentially depicted in the 2011 documentary, "Jiro Dreams of Sushi", is quite rare and at times quite expensive. What are... More

This is our second dinner at Nanase. I would highly recommend to any serious sushi/seafood lover. We went with the Chef's Tasting Menu, which isn't cheap, but best value and flavor, so well worth it. I counted 10 courses. One was better than the next. THe creativeness and cooked to perfection dishes were really something to remember. Will definitely be... More

This isn't a meal - It's an event. It's a culinary journey through flavors that intertwine perfectly resulting in a dining experience you won't likely to forget. Sushi master Yoshimichi Takeda took us on this journey last night. We had the $100 omakase (chef's course) which included four tastings / Chilean Sea Bass w/Miso / Sushi / Fresh Pear Sorbet... More
