The food was ok, a bit heavy. There was a high demand for outdoor seating (servers nice but a bit overwhelmed) and it did not appear like they cleaned the table top well (a wet rag). I would have expected a spray and clean wipe...during Covid. I could also see right into the kitchen. One cook had no mask on and others had them over chin or mouth only. No one wore gloves and one of the cooks was putting food in his mouth while he was cooking. I am sure it is hot in the kitchen but find away to be careful during Covid. Unfortunately, not a lot of places to eat in the area, especially certain days of the week.More

Many years ago an aunt and uncle recommended the Wilderness Inn II to us because of its scrumptious food, casual rustic ambiance, and welcoming staff - still true today! Our family of eight, including four children, enjoyed a wonderful meal on the Monday after July...4th. The rolls were warm; beer-cold; salad-fresh; entrees-delicious (steak, shrimp scampi, sword fish, and pasta); and our server-friendly and helpful. We all were delighted to have sweet corn-on-the-cob. The culinary school trained owner-chef has created a varied menu, plus specials. Outdoor seating is comfortable and well “socially distanced.” There was an unusually large crowd for a Monday evening, many of whom appeared not to have a reservation, but together the staff worked hard to accommodate. It was our server, Farren’s, first night on the job, and she couldn’t have been nicer, and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Treat yourself to a relaxing authentic Adirondack dining experience at the Wilderness Inn II . . . and remember to make a reservation!More

Stopped in for cocktails ... we did not dine but the dinners I saw served had very nice visual. Our party of five day sat at the bar and enjoyed well made reasonably priced libations. Our bartender Andrew was engaging and attentive. We ended up...enjoying several pieces of cheese cake we all found exceptional.More

We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant seemed quite busy. We got the last empty spot in the parking lot. They have tables in the bar ( that were all full ) and a dining room ( that was about half full )....The salad bar is good, but just has the regular basic items. We had the stuffed chicken breast that came with a baked potato, carrots and cranberry sauce. The servings were generous and quite tasty. The only real issue was that the dining room was COLD !!! When you see people eating their dinner with their coats on, it's time to TURN UP THE HEAT !!More

We were guests at a cottage and strolled the 50 feet down to the restaurant for a delicious dinner. The bar is a cozy throw back to the 50’s. All in all, it was delicious, fun, friendly and reasonably priced.

Very slow service. Hour and fifteen minutes to get our meals which werent very good. Potatoes weren’t fully cooked. Carrots were over cooked and prime rib was supposed to be medium and was well done. Waitress apologized for slow service but they only have one...cookMore

“Ok” .... but Only French fries, salad bar items (with only ice burg lettuce for greens) and that day’s soup (tomato) were vegetarian friendly. Instead of real garlic or herbs used on garlic bread or Scampi was flavored garlic salt and some cheap oil. (No...butter or olive oil). Way salty. We ‘re in an area famous for fishing but their fish was imported/farmed. The portions were generous but the rice pilaf was the instant kind I make at home and the veggie/corn sides I guessed had been frozen. - That all being said we had an overall nice time there, enjoyed the atmosphere, liked the salad bar and appreciated the friendly servers.More

June and Paul have owned and operated their restaurant for eons, I am guessing since the mid-70's. You don't remain open and flourish for that long up here by being so-so. The food is pretty standard fair, but Paul offers daily specials that are always...worth a taste. Saturday night's are Prime Rib night, and you better get there early. They offer a salad bar with a nice selection, and if you're polite, June will concoct a magical potion that will help you forget your aching muscles from a day on the hill. There are two things that stand out-- the service is excellent, and I dig the ambiance. There are gate flags from the 80 Olympics, old beer signs, and she has a pretty good collection of German beer steins. If it's not too busy and you're at the bar, ask June about the Russian journalists who stayed at their property during the 80 Olympics.More
