This was our first time here and we will definitely be back! My husband, daughter and I all ate the chicken wings. We couldn't decide on a sauce so we were able to have two or three sauces brought to us to help us choose. All of them were delicious!!!! And the peanut butter pie?!?!? YUM! To top it off,... More

This restaurant is located in the center of town. We go there when I crave chili. They have the best--the very best I have ever eaten. They serve it with a hunk of bread from a nearby bakery. The trailhead also has an amazing selection of local craft beers.

We started our meal with a dozen wings- we tried the hot and spicy mustard flavors. They had a ton of sauce on them and we cooked perfectly. My five year old got the macaroni and cheese kids meal, and had her choice of black beans, carrots/celery, fries, kale and one other choice that I can't think of right now.... More

We've had many meals now at this local restaurant and find that the food is consistently good, fresh and inventive. Some of our favorites are the burger (grass fed meat is an option!) the salmon cakes, fish tacos and salads. There are still some items I'd like to try and there are enough options on the menu so you're not... More

The Trailhead had a Bluegrass band playing the night we ate. The food on the various plates looked wonderful. However, that night I ordered chili since it was so cold outside. The chili was fair. It did not taste homemade. However, the bread that came with the meal was very good. If I return to this restaurant, I will try... More

This is a small restaurant space with a cool bar area (with a canoe above the bar). We had a large party of 10 on a Friday night but they had us seated within about 20 minutes. They have a good selection of local craft beers. Their food menu is a bit upscale (think clover sprigs and coulis). I just... More

My wife turned me on to this place a few months back and I have to say I'm happy she did. I've had several meals here and they are all delicious. The State Street chicken is particularly excellent. Great beer list and great service.

The dinner was very good at The Trailhead in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The fried chicken, rice pudding and salad with chicken were all very good. Also they have a good selection of drinks. Service was excellent.

Great location in center of town. Usually no wait. Attentive waitstaff. I like the seared ahi tuna salad or the portabella mushroom sandwich. Nice beer selection and good mixed drinks. Can be noisy on evenings with live music.

We go here alot when we are in Black Mountain! Sometimes we just run down there to grab a bite to eat and end up staying watching a band or talking to people. We have eaten inside and out, enjoyed both. They have a lot of beer on tap! Burgers are good, wings are good, salads are good. Drinks are... More
