I just don't have words for how good Rusty's is. We stayed in Buxton perhaps 7 years ago and had an enjoyable meal there, so we knew that we would re-visit when we returned. Delicious hushpuppy app -we should have gotten 2 of them (one...fellow traveler said that he would just eat those for dinner if he could). Fried green tomato app was also excellent (and the other 2 in the party were happy that they didn't need to share it with hush puppy guy). I am a fish eater, while other family members want the turf (baby back ribs). The joy of Rusty's is that no matter what they are cooking the food is amazing and inventive -which everyone enjoyed (rather than the 1 gourmet while the other gourmands thought was too expensive). The spicy margherita was to die for. Will definitely return next year on our travel along OBX.More

Had 13 in our group - each person had a different entree - which all were great! Service was fast and friendly. Will go back next time we are back. Call for reservations with large party though - very accommodating.

Excellent!!! We went here with some friends for dinner. Haley was our waitress. All four meals were excellent. Perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. We celebrated our anniversary with a Sunday brunch at Rusty's. It was our first visit. I usually order eggs benedict but this time I tried something different...Cajun fritattas! Our meals were wonderful. We will return for dinner soon. Prices were reasonable. Portions were generous. Service...was excellent!More

There were 7 people in our party and we ordered a variety of items off the menu. The food was delicious, great customer service and the restaurant has a beachy vibe. Happened into Rusty's last summer and was extremely pleased by the service and delicious food and drinks! Went twice this month and again had a wonderful experience. Rusty is an excellent chef. Delicious!! We got the chicken and waffles, wings and the smokehouse? Burger. Our waitress Gina was really helpful and sweet, working the dining room all by herself and handling it so well! Rusty came out and introduced himself and checked on all of the customers...which was great to see. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also really nice, our first time going and won’t be our last! Well worth it 😊More

It was Sunday and not a lot from which to choose, since we found most restaurants are closed on Sundays. Luckily, we found Rusty’s and, although it was their final opening of the season before they shut down for a month, we wound up having...the best meal of our long weekend. Some items were not available, but we found plenty of options. Hush puppies were great. My wife had the veggie stir fry with cashews which was excellent. I had a mahi-mahi special with an Asian glaze that was the best piece of fish I’ve had in a long while. Kat, our server, took great care of us, even though the restaurant appeared short handed. We’ll go back again on our next trip maybe more than once.More

Our group of 8 ate at Rusty’s our last night on the island and had a great time. Service was excellent and the food fresh and delicious. Our 2 year old granddaughter was with us and our server brought her a bowl of noodles right...away to keep her happy. We shared an assortment of seafood appetizers and the mahi entree 5 of us had was excellent. The bar did a nice job on the mixed drinks and have 5 craft beers on tap. Not on the water if you are looking for that ambiance but interior is spacious and nicely decorated. Prices are fair for the quality of the food. We will be back.More
