I have been to Calabash many times in the past and have eaten at many of the restaurants. This establishment is, literally, a shack of a kitchen on a boat dock. The seating is mostly basic picnic tables on a dirt and gravel area adjacent...to the shack. Most are shaded with umbrellas. There is some seating on the dock itself, behind the shack. The only restroom is a 40 yard hike across an uneven, unpaved parking lot and across a street to an outbuilding. It is stinky, poorly lit, and unisex. The seafood was good and served hot, but it was no better and no worse than what I have eaten at other Calabash restaurants. The slaw smelled and tasted spoiled. I ate a tiny bite and spit it out. I did not tell the waitress because she was obviously overwhelmed and the slaw was of the remade/ came-in -a-container variety. We were lucky that we got the only actual good waitress present. She was doing everything except cooking the food, and she was kept busy supervising the other, much less competent waitresses. If you have an older person in your party with mobility issues I would not recommend this venue due to the uneven footing and the necessity for climbing into picnic tables, along with the bathroom situation.More

Guess we were lucky to get a table, as there aren't many. Maureen was our server, and was helpful and attentive. The crab cake basket was very good. The soft shell crab was enjoyed. Happy with our choice!

Pros: great staff (expect to wait because they are short staffed too), all food is fresh and amazing, the pound cake with butter pecan ice cream will change your life Cons: all outdoor seating so expect flies and birds, they are closed Oct-March, limited seating...This is a shack in a parking lot. If you want to be fancy you can sit facing the inlet. You come here for the food, not the atmosphere.More

OMG amazing. Not fancy but you can sit outside and look at pier. I ordered breaded my husband ordered blackened both were excellent. Price much lower than Myrtle beach and worth the drive. There is a Village of shops up the road…also good shopping. Waitress...was awesomeMore

Great outdoor dining. Both of us had baskets which included selected fish and French fries. I had crab cake which was full of crab with very little filler. Wife had fried shrimp which was a good serving size. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. Definitely...recommend this even though it is a small spot.More

The fries & sweet tea were good. Very very small portions. My son’s flounder in his flounder sandwich (not kids meal) barely had any meat on it & he said the breading “tasted old.” Husband’s mahi sandwich was a tiny portion of Mahi. Daughters shrimp...basket had 5 shrimp. It was not a kids plate. My crab cake basket looked like a kids meal. One very small crab cake & a hand full of fries. Not worth the $55 price tag.More

Based on Trip advisor reviews, we tried waterfront restaurant. All outside eating. The seafood is absolutely fresh and their red snapper special just came off of the boat. They know how to prepare seafood. I strongly suggest blackened shrimp, scallop, or flounder. The hush puppies,...French fries, and Cole slaw are good, but the star of the plates are the seafood portions. You can see ships pass by on the inter coastal waterway. Reasonable prices and excellent service and quality.More

The food was great but they ran out of a few items on the menu so we were a little bummed. It offered picnic type seating. The waitress was very friendly and attentive

Had lunch by the waterfront with the best service by Penny! She made our visit delightful. The food was served hot and delicious. Enjoyed the grilled pound cake with ice cream and it was a real treat! Stop by and enjoy lunch here, it's great...and you can sit outside!More

I doubt it. The place is outdoor dinning on picnic tables and tiki umbrellas. They should be able to figure something out, they are super flexible.
