Two of us decided to share four starters and it was enough for a meal. All were delicious (Brussel sprouts, pimento mac and cheese, brie hand pie and a special)! Pricy but yummy cocktails. I think this is my new favorite restaurant in Carrboro!

A real restaurant that deserves the great reputation it receives. No shortcuts in the preparation and service. The pecan crusted chicken is first rate. Deserts are outstanding and the calamari terrific ! Wow a restaurant that still cares and it shows !

Awesome food. Awesome service. The menu is changing regularly so you always find something new to discover. My favorite is outside seating (last time it was a Thanksgiving 2016 - welcome to North Carolina). You might get lucky and get Justin as your server and enjoy his story about the sculpture he exposes in the restaurant.

This is the 2nd year my family has had Acme for Thanksgiving and it is totally worth it. The portions were very filling, and had to get dessert to go. The service was good could have been more attentive, I would have liked a glass of wine with my meal but I totally understand they were busy and it was... More

This si a great restaurant with plenty on their menus for any type of eater. I had three vegetarians in my party and they all were very pleased with the menu and the help from the wait staff in placing the order to their liking. It can get crowded and you may have to wait for a table but they... More

I enjoyed this low-key restaurant very much. It has a great Southern-inspired menu with lots of interesting and diverse choices. My blackened salmon with cheese grits was delicious!

This restaurant is charming. The cozy ambience and great service we had makes you want to linger all night and just enjoy being out with friends eating good food. Yes, the food was delicious! I recommend the melt-in-your-mouth crab cake if it's still on the menu. Our server said it's a popular item. It was a filling meal but not... More

Met with a rather large group for dinner during our visit and it was a wonderful evening! Their special cornbread that night was roasted pumpkin seed, totally delicious! Our server (Debbie?) was knowledgeable, professional and friendly at the same time. She suggested alternatives for things that had run out on the specials, handled our group efficiently and made sure that... More

This was our first visit to Acme. I had heard very positive reviews and was really looking forward to trying it. It was a lively dining room, but quiet enough for good conversation which was really appreciated. I had the Classic Steak Frites and enjoyed it very much. My wife was equally pleased with her Cast Iron Skillet Crab Cakes.... More

Description
The ovens are turned on early. Six o'clock most days. Earlier on Sunday. Within an hour, bread is rising, apples are being sliced. Pecan pies are pulled hot from the oven and left to cool. Ice cream churns in the machine. Cups of coffee steam on the prep table, the baker's cup marked with chocolaty fingerprints. By midmorning, pork shoulder, rubbed with spices the day before, is slowly smoked. And white buckets are filled with sliced onions. Corn is shucked. The stock that cooked all night is taken off the stove and strained. Bags of fresh shrimp are delivered in old grocery store bags. The waiters arrive in groups, shirts and ties on hangers. By then, every burner in the kitchen is being used. Herbs are chopped. Scallops cleaned. Ovens at 500 degrees. All sauces are checked. Bartenders polish their shakers. Silverware is rolled and every surface is wiped down. Music. Lights. Doors are opened. Dinnertime. At Acme. Seven nights a week. Local never tasted so damn good.
