We ate here because it was raining and very close to the hotel we were staying at. I had the crabcake. The crab had been mushed up and there were no chunks of crabmeat. I've had far better elsewhere. It came with mixed vegetables for which I had to ask for some lemon butter in order to give them flavor.... More

We eat frequently at Squids and often choose to get their boiled shrimp with Old Bay seasoning. Always very tasty, but more importantly, the shrimp are never mushy or over-cooked. The shrimp always seem to be so fresh.

This is my go-to place for fish - it's fresh as can be and prepared anyway you'd want it. The service couldn't be better. You feel they really care about you. I love celebrating the birthdays of friends here. They even provide a free birthday dessert for that person! Hushpuppies outstanding.

You can sit at the bar and make friends. You can sit at a table and dine in private or with friends as well. Choice of two atmospheres, same great food. Best fish and seafood in the Triangle. Casual. Service is excellent. Whoever finds and trains this staff knows his job. This is consistently high level and you will return... More

Squid's has been a reliable spot for fresh seafood for years. We always enjoy the range of fish and shellfish, served by a very efficient wait staff. The bar gets crazy busy by late afternoon, especially on half-price oyster Tuesdays. It is well worth it to arrive early and enjoy really great seafood and excellent drinks.

Drive by this restaurant any night it is open and the parking lot is full... for a reason!! The food is outstanding. I have never had a bad meal here. NEVER. I love Squids and am a huge fan.

Had a really nice time enjoying a plate of oysters on the half-shell (as fresh as you can imagine) and glass of really nice cabernet at a table in the bar area with a friend. Service was incredibly attentive (without getting in the way).

We have been going to this place over pas 5 years or so. The service is always excellent. Seafood (oysters, shrimp) is really good for the price you pay. Now they started to introduce new varieties of local craft beer (porters & stouts) too. Two thumbs up!

I love listening to other foodies tell me how great the seafood restaurants are a thousand miles from here while complaining about Squids. Because Squids is the best regular seafood restaurant in the Triangle, and has been for nearly 30 years now. Personally I don't fly up to Boston just because I want some seafood, and I judge my restaurants... More
