I've visited twice for lunch and my experiences were vastly different, except for the service. On my first visit, I ordered the Serrano sandwich. It was freshly sliced and had a very generous portion of fine ham. The flavors of the thin layer of tapanade accentuated the ham really made for a nice lunch sandwich at a reasonable price in... Malabar is located in the heart of uptown. The restaurant’s decor is modern and sleek, with a bar area next to an open area for diners and a mirrored wall. The lunch menu had an assortment of small plates, sandwiches, and salads. There was also a 2 course prix fix lunch option for under $15. I had the toasted ham... More

My wife and I tried Malabar recently and had a really great experience. We loved the croquettes and Iberian ham, as well as the tres leches dessert. The waitstaff was attentive and quick with refills. Parking uptown can be difficult, but there is a garage on the block.

We came in on the recommendation of a waitress at another place where we had cocktails and told her we just wanted to bounce around and graze. We are so glad we did!! We had the tuna tartar, peppers stuffed with a delicious risotto, and the waiter chose our last dish- the flank steak with chimichurri sauce ( that was... More

Spanish wine, Spanish tapas! So delish! It's swanky, dark and quiet in the middle of a bustling downtown! Churrasco, empanadas and shrimp...yum! Didn't get anything else this time, but will go back soon for paella and more Tempranillo! Make a reservation...its small and gets busy!

The tapas was good, the paella ok, deserts ok.. I would go back for the tapas but not the paella... a bit lacking in flavor based on my taste. However, there are more than enough tapas options to have a good meal!

Delicious tapas. Considering the location, it's not as pricey as we expected it to be. We dined outside and enjoy the cool night. We will be back.
