This was the first time eating at the restaurant. The food was ok, service ok. Our server disappeared for a while. The one disappointing issue is that Shatley springs restaurant does not take credit cards, a fact they do not tell you until you get ready to check out or like my husband start googling history facts as you are... It has a country atmosphere, nothing fancy. Meals can be family style or off the menu. There is a natural spring where a person can collect water. There is a gift store.

Very popular local place but quality deteriorated after new management took over. Still an acceptable stop but nowhere near what it used to be. Food served family style so no one should go away hungry.

I was raised on going to Statley Springs with my parents from Greensboro. Although only open from April until the end of Oct. each year , it deserves the 5 stars for food and entertainment on the weekends. Reservations advised.

Not open during the winter months so check before you come. A meal here is a must when you visit. Most people order family style which is excellent with country ham and fried chicken but be hungry it is all you can eat with about 10 sides. You don't have to eat family style and the menu items are good... More

Sunday is the day to go here..in the Summer..they have bands that play and people are dancing..a lot of fun!.. Their speciality is the fried chicken with all the fixings...we sometimes take our guest there just to enjoy the atmosphere..the food is okay. Don't order the chicken pot pie!!! it is out of a can! Our family went to Shatley Springs for Thanksgiving dinner, and it was beyond delicious with all the holiday trimmings and the service was great. We have been there several times before and we will be going back again.

I have to admit that I am not a fan of most "family style" restaurants because I simply don't eat that much at one time. I went to Shatley Springs because my sister-in-law said that the food was really good and that the $20.00 per head cost was well worth it. Here's what my experience was like ... When we... More

Breakfast was a taste of childhood for me, white hair, big smile, down home delicious comfort breakfast food. Large portions, cooked well and family style atmosphere. Good southern food. Very inexpensive for the portion size. We tried to go on Saturday, but there was a 1 hour wait. We went on Sunday and snuck in right at the 10:30 breakfast... More

Family style serving of Fried Chicken (that would put the Colonial out of business) and real Country Ham. The vegies were like going to Grandma's! The Gravy & Biscuits were heavenly!!! Owner Lee McMillian is a gracious restauranteer, full of tradition!!! Great Wait Staff & Cooks! Our Daughters always choose Shatley Springs for their Birthday Meal!!!
