Really enjoyed our dining experience here. Food was good, everything had a bit of wood fired taste to it. I got a steak-which was just your normal piece of meat- and my husband got the scallops-which were cooked perfectly-so super tender. We had oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer, which was quite good and had a little twist to them- pimento... More

The first time we went to The Paper Canoe was last October possibly the last night before they were closing for the 2016 fall season. I remember that we had great service and the food was excellent. Our most recent visit was when they were opening for the 2017 season. I made a reservation for 7 pm although the owner... More

They do a great job at Paper Canoe. You NEED A RESERVATION. Book now. You won't be disappointed. Kara, our server, was terrific. Everyone was very pleased with there selections. Friendly place with good food, beautiful views in a friendly setting. The scallop dish looked amazing...huge scallops, beautifully done. Two of these entrees were served at our table. Otherwise, it... More

We had a lovely dinner and local beers for our family of 9. The specials were duck and steak, as well as a wild catch fish. Someone in our group ordered each, as well as crbcakes, shrimp and grits, and the ravioli with crab. Each meal was amazing, everyone was pleased. My husband is a foodie and had to please;... More

The food was unbelievable! I got the special of the day, bacon wrapped filet mignon in a cognac cream sauce with scalloped potatoes and asparagus. It was perfectly cooked. One of the best meals I have ever had. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. They don't have a kids menu, but they did a great job of accommodating our 3... More

I LOVE the Paper Canoe. Best to go on non peak hours however, as the service and food can be spotty when the kitchen is pushed. I've always had very good meals there and it's a favorite hideaway late afternoon with a glass of good wine, appetizer and a sunset. The view is spectacular and the restaurant interior very tasteful.... More

Always a must visit in Duck. So happy they have off season hours . The perfect place to sneak away for a glass of good wine , a bite and a beautiful view of the sunset. I love the Paper Canoe . A little pricey for dinner but generally worth it .

We stayed at the Sanderling, and wanted to have dinner somewhere we could walk to and from. While the Sanderling has a few restaurants of their own, I felt like they were a bit on the expensive side. I saw that the Paper Canoe had wonderful reviews and an enticing menu, so we decided to try it out. And boy,... More

I had heard this place was pretty good, but for the price, I was underwhelmed. I had the fish with couscous and it was okay, but one of my fellow diners complained their steak was not cooked correctly. Also, the beignet dish was very disappointing, especially for how expensive it was

We were so disappointed by this restaurant. Service was not that great and the food was pretty disgusting. Both of our entrees were swimming in thick purees of some sort and nothing about the dishes and sides seemed to go together. It was the last night of the season and it literally felt like they dumped whatever ingredients were left... More
