Family members recommended this restaurant. This place was filled with grandmas. The sweet tea was excellent. Banana pudding was looked so good, I ate it first. IT WAS WORTH IT! The food was old school. My husband got a BBQ sandwich all the way. He took one bite and went back in to get another one. The fried chicken was... More

What an amazing find in this remote part of eastern North Carolina. Don't let this small building fool you. Inside you will find bright cheerful sincere smiles serving some of the best eastern style barbecue you will ever taste. This order at the counter with a menu of home style barbecue, chicken, hamburger and hotdogs and sides of perfectly cooked... More

Being from Georgia and Louisiana, I'm used to bbq being sweet and tangy. This place uses vinegar based sauce and I was skeptical... Glad I was wrong! This itty bitty mom and pop place is fantastic! The chopped bbq pork is mouth watering! The banana pudding is SO GOOD! Every two seconds my coworker reminded me how good it was... More

I'm on a BBQ Quest to visit many of the restaurants listed on the NC BBQ Map. Today my wife and I visited Grady's BBQ. Growing up in Eastern NC and having cooked many whole hogs over wood coals (oak) with my dad, Grady's brought back memories and tastes of great BBQ. Grady's BBQ is a must for the diehard... More

Don't let looks deceive you! While it's not much to look at on the outside, or the inside for that matter, finding this place on google maps is worth it!! The BBQ is top notch, 10/10, juicy, creamy, and delicious. It is complemented by the perfect sauce. Their collards were delicious, but we felt their hush puppies missed the mark.... More

There are at least two things that draw me back to Grady's BBQ. One is the old timey barbecue cooked on wood coals. The smoke fills the meat with that good cooked outside flavor. The other items are very good, also--collards, home made Cole slaw, black-eyed peas, hush puppies, barbecued chicken and last but not least is that good banana... More

Outstanding!!! Hole in the wall but local flavor. Like eating at Grandma's house. BBQ, chicken and cabbage can't be beat!

We read about this in the New and Observer and found that it was only about 30 minutes from our house, so my wife and I took off on a Saturday morning to try their Que. It was easy to find. Nothing to write home about the restaurant, but the food, oh my heavens. We went in and there was... More

So decided to go for a ride on my Hatley and chose Grady's as the destination. They are out in the middle of almost nowhere, but they don't disappoint. For $11.75 I got half lb. of BBQ, coleslaw, hush puppies and a large sweet tea. The BBQ was moist and delicious with a light smokiness, the slaw was fairly simple... More
