The menu is simple, just order 1 or 2 bowls with your sauce preference, protein add-in (chicken, calamari, scallops, etc.), and type of rice. Then, fill your bowls with various vegetables and watch your food cook on the grill. The restaurant is inexpensive and simple, but nice. Just one caution, if you arrive close to their closing time, expect them... More

I LOVE spicy hot Chinese food, and here they cook it to your taste, so I can have them pour on the hot oil and it is divine. ALSO, if you ask them to ho;d back on the salt, they do...Perfection!

Tucked away in the lower level of the building, this restaurant is a gem! While the décor might leave a little something to be desired, the food is awesome. You pile as much food as you think you will eat into your bowls then they cook it to your liking. It's fantastic. I even ate there with two different groups... More

This is a great inexpensive place to grab a bite. It's Mongolian style where you add to your bowl what you want from meats and vegetables and any extra add-ons. It's cooked to your specification. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Ok so this was my first time trying Mongolian barbecue. Our friends had to explain how to order, prepare the bowls (you'll definitely need two if you are hungry), and figure out the sauce. I tried the combination sauce level 5. I'll do 6 next time. The food was wonderful. We'll be back again.

This restaurant is very popular in the Duke community, and just moving here from Florida we wanted to give it a try. It was 5pm on a weekday for dinner, so it was not crowded, therefore our service was good. The food was great, very well cooked and sauce was very tasty. The reason for 4/5 is the place could... First I would like to say that my review/1 star has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the food. I will admit that there is NO better Mongolian stir fry out there. The food is absolutely amazing. However, when going out to eat and choosing to spend your money in a restaurant-the quality of the food is only... More

Bali Hai has great food for for a great price. My only major complaint is when I wanted to get containers for my leftovers they wouldn't give me one. This isn't a buffet spot and there is no sign that indicates that once you are finish eating your meal that you can't take it home. My Lady and I was... More

We love to get take-out from Bali Hai. I usually get 2 bowls for each person in our family. I like the salad bar of vegetables and meats - it allows each person in our family to get exactly what we prefer. I also order extra fried rice to add to our meal. We don't like our food spicy so... More

We are here on the recommendation of a friend who told us it was "near DPAC". Well it wasn't near in the manner that we could have walked to the theater, but that's OK, the dining experience was worth it. Unless you're famished, go for a single bowl and pile it up. I thought I had piled mine up high... More
