After seeing an Instagram post made by Our State magazine I immediately made a reservation. My husband and I dined on. Saturday evening. Restaurant opened at 5:30 and filled up quickly. So much to choose from on the menu. I chose the Beet Fixed Faire with wine pairings. Food was amazing! We have found another date spot. Can't wait to... More

Would definitely come back again. The food was very good and creative. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and flavors of each item. Limited menu that changes frequently.

Delicious fare and maybe it was my fault for believing when the menu said rainbow trout that I was going to get a whole one. The portions are more light lunch size with the exception of the ribeye. I got a half a trout and a small wedge of cabbage with some diced kohlrabi.Everyone liked the very lovely layered taste... More

After the State Carolina Game we met my Girlfriends Aunt and Uncle for a beer and we ended up having dinner in Downtown Durham. After a few suggestions we decided to try Piedmont for a Farm-to-Fork experience. We were seated promptly early on a Friday evening and our service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and light with... More

Dined here with another couple who are also Foodies. In a word, it was "Fantastic"! We had several different dishes, but the Aged Beef Tartare, Black Drum, and Pork Shoulder were each a sophisticated creation that brought together so many elements of complimenting flavors, textures, and senses that we were all blown away! Additionally, we received great advice from the... More

I had some foodie friends come into town for game day. They were very interested in having dinner at the Piedmont. Chef John May, from the PBS show A Chef's Life, is the Executive Chef of the Piedmont. They enjoyed his time on the show and knew he had moved to Durham. They thought it would be a positive experience... More

Disappointing brunch, will not go back! We arrived at 1 PM, brunch is served till 2. Informed they were out of bacon :-(. OK, sausage is the only other option. I want tater tots, which is on the menu, oops, I am sorry we are out of tater tots, but we can offer you home fries or hash browns. OK,... More

It was not a busy Sunday when we arrived. The portions were very small and the chef deviated from the ingredients listed on the menu without as much as a mention by the waitperson. In addition both of us were served semi-warm dishes.. The charge of $3.5o for a very small biscuit was excessive. The chef must have a large ego... More

Interesting, appealing decor in an urban deconstructed farmhouse kind of way. Good service. We were all excited to try what we chose-- they looked really interesting. It is not that the food was bad. It was okay. But by and large it failed to meet expectations. My wife's dishes were the best of the lot. A charred corn custard with... More

Went here for dinner as a family prior to dropping our son off at college tomorrow. We had 3 teenage boys with us. Was expecting much more based upon its reviews. Food was good but portions were really small. We have to go someplace later on to eat again. I Wylde not recommend this restaurant.

Description
Piedmont is first and foremost about the food and the ingredients with respect to the connection between the land and the plate. The cuisine is Contemporary American, seasonally focused and ingredient driven. Our menu changes daily based on what is currently available. Our mission is to provide access to well prepared, sustainably raised, local food. We use only local produce, seafood and meats from sustainable businesses to showcase the diversity of North Carolina foodstuffs. We focus on sourcing the best ingredients from local, sustainable producers with our guide being Coon Rock Farm. We are an elegantly casual restaurant that welcomes both the everyday diner as well as the special occasion gathering.
