It is a typical Irish pub that had the feel of a place that has been around for a while and is showing its age a bit. That brunt said service is fast and friendly. Tuesday night is trivia night which makes for a lively but not crowded atmosphere.

Tasty food. Try the James Joyce burger, with Rashers. Yum. Really nice atmosphere, except for the music. Their playlist was weird.

I haven't been here is a long while, but always remember it a great Irish Pub with a great atmosphere. Well, the service and food has gone down the tubes. I had the Guinness potato cheese soup and it tasteless like it was right out of a can or at least sitting in one for a long while. My wife... More

In town for a play at DPAC. Good beer, burger & stir fry. Met some great people. Will return when back in town.

We went here for lunch and I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. I like the fact that you can get a salad instead of having to get French fries. The salad was very fresh and it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The cheddar cheese I added to the sandwich was excellent... More

My family and I went here after walking around looking for a restaurant late at night. We walked in and our first impression was that it was a dingy local spot, but we were pleasantly surprised by the incredible hospitality of the bartenders/waiters, the wide and delicious selection of beer, (specifically the Bourbon County Stout), and the timely and outstanding... We were really hopeful this would a neighborhood gem but it was really dark and dirty. The tables were sticky. The beer was cold but the food was a disappointment. Fish and chips were chilly and greasy, and the service took forever, and it was not a busy night. The location is a problem due to all the homeless panhandlers... More

Went for lunch recently having heard something vaguely about them having a new chef. Hadn't eaten there in a few years. It had been good last time I ate here. The food that we got for lunch on this trip was HORRIBLE. Worst meal that I have paid for in the past 5 years. Started with some deviled eggs. Disgusting... More

I'd been told by a friend that she used to be a fan and patron of the James Joyce pub, but that it declined dramatically after a change of management a while back. She and I visited the pub for a couple of beers because I wanted to check it out. She ordered a Guinness and I ordered a Smithwick's.... More

Came here with some friends to relax for an early dinner. It's a little small on the inside, but they have some nice outdoor space too. The bartenders were very friendly. They're a big reason this place gets a 4 from me. I got the corn beef sandwich with fries. The fries were great and the corn beef sandwich tasted... More
