We went to a different seafood market everyday for the past week to get steamed shrimp in the OBX. Risky’s was the best by far!!! Nicest workers too! ❤️❤️❤️🦐

Buying fresh fish from local fishermen to cook for dinner has become one of the highlights of our Outer Banks vacations ever since we discovered Risky Business. Everything is fresh and local (or clearly marked if "imported" from Virginia as the flounder was the last...time we were there). It's all so good, the service is friendly, and we only stopped there one time (buying fresh mahi to take back to cook and storing it in a cooler we'd brought along for that purpose) because we were staying on Ocracoke rather than in Hatteras - but swung by Risky Business on our return to bring dinner home, even though Ocracoke also has a very good place selling fresh local seafood (the Ocracoke Seafood Company) which no doubt would have done as well, but Risky Business was our first love. Highly recommended!More

We go here every year during our visit to Hatteras. We always get the shrimp and have them steam it there. Delicious and super fresh! And they are always so nice! We also tried the crab spread that was already prepared, it was great on...crackers topped with a steamed shrimp and some cocktail sauce. Highly recommend!More

Excellent as always. We’ve been coming back for the past 5 years now. Best fresh seafood. Excellent steamed shrimp and the seasoning is awesome. Every year we buy enough of their seasoning to take home. Their service is superb year after year. 👍🏼 We always...buy raw oysters and steamed shrimp and eat it out on the picnic tables outside and watch the boats dock and launch.More

The first time, we decided to grab a piece of fish and cook it ourselves in the condo we're renting, since it was Monday and the place we wanted to eat was closed. So glad we did - wonderfully fresh, tender and buttery, and so...easy to cook it ourselves - all it needed was a little olive oil, salt & pepper, and a touch of Old Bay - and Risky Business sells the Old Bay and other essentials too. (OK not sure about the oil, but the Red and White is just down the street.) Our restaurant was open the next night, but instead we went back to Risky Business. Tile fish this time, since they were out of flounder (but had 6 or 8 different varieties of fresh fish to choose from). Loved that too - I'm not sure we'll make it to a restaurant this week, since we live in West Virginia and really really fresh fish that doesn't come out of a river isn't available there. Haven't tried the shrimp they steam for you but it's obviously popular, and we really need to take a closer look at the goodies in the store's glass-fronted cooler and for sale on the shelves (though they're currently restricted to one family group at a time in the store and there are always people waiting - that's why we've been hurrying in and out).More

Stopped in to get some steamed shrimp which were amazing. Also, bought some tuna and a key lime pie. All the seafood was fresh and prices were really reasonable. Key lime pie was delicious. In fact, will say it was the key lime pie I...have ever eaten!! The staff was very helpful and nice.More

Fresh fare straight from the water! My son and I stopped in for some of their fresh steamed and seasoned shrimp. We thoroughly enjoyed every morsel while watching the boats come in to the docks. This will definitely become a tradition for every trip to...the Outer Banks. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for fresh, locally sourced food. Top notch service to boot!More

Buy it and take home. Buy it and have them cook it and then take it home. Buy it and have them store it until you're ready to take it home! But...buy it by 4 or 5 o'clock. If you want fresh fish, oysters, clams,...shrimp, buy it here. They also have their own cocktail sauce, and pies! Love this gem.More

We traveled long and far to get here ... and bought seafood all along the way. Risky Business is the #1 shop for 'fresh' seafood on Hatteras Island. It comes in to Oden's Dock and straight to the seafood shop. It's all right there, and...if you pay in cash you get a discount! Then, you can walk all along the dock and see the sea treasures: fishing boats, birds, fish, fish mongers, fishermen, and boats to rent. You can enjoy some fresh steamed shrimp also and eat it under the porch out back on a picnic table .... fun and freshness all packed into one!More

Our annual trip to Hatteras village is made better by the dinners we cook after shopping at Risky Business Seafood! It is the best fresh seafood we have ever found in our travels! The fishermen pull up to the dock in their boats, fish is...off loaded, cleaned and cut rite there so you can watch, and then it’s for sale! We talk with the owner who is always there about what looks good, what the next day looks like and so on... it is always fantastic! Try the house made crab cakes and the fresh steamed shrimps!!! TASTY!!!More

Sorry for the delay in answering. I do not know the answer. I DO know that if you're in Hatteras, get here when the boats come in (maybe 4 ish) and have the pick of some seriously fresh stuff. I have been to Hatteras ONCE... More
