Good entrees, drinks, and apps, but for a restaurant in the heart of Hatteras village that was some of the worst "Hatteras Chowder" my wife and I have ever had

We got to the restaurant at 8:35pm (ferry we took was delayed 40 minutes) on a night where their hours said they close at 9pm. When my family walked in the bartender rolled her eyes and then walked over and told me we couldn't have...a table. She said there was a major mechanical issue. However, the restaurant was full of tables that were eating and surely we could have been offered a limited selection of things that were available if the full menu wasn't available. She acknowledge everything on the island was closing and sent us on our way. Highly disappointed is an understatement!More

We loved everything about this restaurant and dinner. Arrived at opening with a party of 9 and got a beautiful table outside. Our server (who was originally from NJ we learned later in the meal) was top notch. We've been to high end NYC restaurants...whose service pales in comparison. She was amazing. Food was all beautiful and fresh. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was so so fresh. Love the views, the décor, food and service. Hope to come back!More

we went twice while on vacation, enjoyed it so much the first time we went back the 2nd. nice music the first time but the music was a no show the 2nd time. the creole crabdip appetizer was excellent. the crab cakes were good, crab,...not filler. my husband enjoyed the ribs. everyone enjoyed their meals. the peanut butter pie was to die for as well as the killer views. looking forward to going backMore

One of the only places we found with outdoor waterfront seating. Great seafood options and some good non seafood options, fabulous views and some excellent cocktails. We also enjoyed the live music available most nights.

Great food!! All four of had an excellent meal. The view were awesome !! The staff were very friendly and helpful explaining the menu.

We loved this place! We walked to this restaurant/bar 3 nights in a row. The bar tenders made wonderful drinks and my husband enjoyed the beers on tap. We ate there twice. We had the shrimp and grits, chicken sandwich, chicken parmesan, stuffed flounder and...ribs. The chicken parmesan was just okay but the shrimp and grits and flounder were delicious. My dad said the ribs were the best he had ever had. Breakwater has great views. They have a great area outside to eat or enjoy drinks with your friends or family.More

We stopped in for dinner due to good reviews. Food was ok, but service was terrible. We had to ask multiple times for drink refills. It seemed like our waitress had more than 5 tables, while others only had 1 or 2. We saw a...number of parties seated after us and leave before Food - the shrimp ceviche was delicious and so was the firecracker shrimp.More

We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past but found it disappointing this year. Our server just didn't seem to be into serving. She was not attentive at all. Service was slow (which seemed to be magnified due to the poor service). The food was...ok to good, but again, when you're not getting good service, everything else just seems be lacking as well. The views from this restaurant are outstanding.More

Fried calamari was some of the best we’ve ever had. Crab cakes were also delicious. Husband had an ahi tuna wrap that was amazing. Hatteras iced tea and strawberry coconut drink were also really good.

Great food and service. The best deck in Hatteras and they have local musicians almost every night. Not loud electric guitar jams, mostly easy listening. The bartenders are fantastic. Stop downstairs and watch the fish come in before dinner, it's a great show.

Food was jus okay for the price!Very good service though!if your outside the view is really nice on the sound!
