This restaurant/bar is located near the villa that my husband and I stayed at while at the OBX. We truly enjoyed the ability to walk to it, sit outside and listen to the entertainment provided nightly. From karaoke, Jackie Burns, and After School SurfClub - were all great! The outside area has picnic tables you can sit at, and if you choose to order, you go inside, you are given a table number and they bring the food to you. Great entertainment!

Owners truly care to put out a great meal!

Convenient location at the Hatteras-Ocracoke car ferry dock, but worth a visit even if you're not waiting for the ferry! Great selection of unique and tasty sandwiches in a fun atmosphere. We happened to meet the owners, he's in the kitchen and she's at the bar. To be honest, the location alone would assure steady business, since there's a "captive audience", so even a place that serves mediocre food could survive. BUT the quality of the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. It's clear the owners take pride in their product, as they should, the food was delicious! Our server was very good too, unfortunately we can't recall her name, but she was great.

One Good Thing About Just Missing A Departing Ferry.....

....is grabbing a bite to eat at this restaurant. We let them know of our timing when we ordered and ended up with two terrific turkey/cheese/bacon/avocado sandwiches. Delicious....and made even better by sitting at an outdoor table! There is a sign that says something along the lines of "We are not a fast food restaurant, our food is made to order. No refunds if you miss your ferry", so be aware of your timing and the load on the kitchen staff if you decide to order. Based on a prior review, they mean what they say.

There are serious staffing issues on OBX this year so I understand the for sale sign on the door. It seems like it could be a cool dive bar and the location on the water was great. Food and drinks limited along with hours of operation.

Beautiful water view

They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The latter has beautiful views of Pamlico Sound, boats and ferries to Ocracoke Island. Watching the ferries come and go was entertaining. Its exterior and those of surrounding shops and restaurant are vibrant. The surrounding colors were pretty to look at and be in. It made my mood brighter! My Cuban roasted pork loin panini with potato chips was very good. My husband’s Italian panini was equally good! Service was quick.

Great service great food. The pannini was delicious, the chips... Well they were chips catchy beach theme, great atmosphere, but honestly, how about a little AC. no wind circulation, no AC. The staff was sweating, customers sweating, everyone SWEATING..

Waited forever still no food

We arrived at and ordered at 2:01. We had to be on the ferry at 2:50. So, we waited for 48 minutes and still didn’t get our food. They offered no refund and we had to leave without our food. We only ordered three quesadillas and nachos. Doesn’t seem it would’ve taken that long to cook. Over ninety dollars just sucks. We even ordered on the ferry menu. That was supposed to be the their fast menu.

Discovered this place while visiting kite store. Hubby said looks like a fun place so we gave it a try. Neat inside and they only serve panini sandwiches. It was just ok. Serve was good and margarita was definitely good and strong.

Fun and Festive Wedding Reception Featuring Gorgeous Water Views

Jess & Joel are wonderful people, small business owners, and hosts! We reached out to The Wreck as a potential location for our wedding reception following our small ceremony on the beach near mile marker 55. We were very impressed with the service, attention to detail, and of course-- the delicious food and drinks! It was all reasonably priced and we were on a budget so that was a huge blessing. They worked within our budget to provide appetizers and a taco bar that guests loved, hooked up one of our phones to be the iPhone DJ, and set up a beer pong table for guests outside on the deck! It was fun, laidback, and the dance floor was hopping. Our small reception of about 40 people felt just right in this space. We even snuck away for some gorgeous bridal portraits in the marina as the sun set and it was so swoon-worthy. They made the entire process so easy-- even coordinating with a local baker to make and order our cake and providing a recommendation for a caterer for a welcome party during our wedding weekend. The fact that they so willingly referred us to other businesses and take something off my mental load as a stressed out bride, making sure our needs were met just spoke volumes about their character and heart. These are good people ready to welcome people of all walks of life with open arms and a jello shot! This is a great space for a low-key reception that turns up the fun featuring beautiful sunset water views without the high price tag of other options in the Outer Banks. We highly recommend them for private events, rehearsal dinners, or small receptions like ours! Thanks again for a memorable wedding weekend! We will be back!

Very small place - suggest eating outside

We opted for inside seating, apparently not thinking so clearly, since though they place is abiding by Dare County 50% capacity and social distancing guidelines, it is very small and the 3 tables available aren't distanced that much from people going in and out. People were walking by us without masks and even the wait staff wasn't wearing them when behind the counter. One waitress was wearing hers only over her mouth much of the time. The food itself is fine - mostly paninis. I need a gluten-free option, and the vegetarian chili over corn chips works for that. But we both wished we had taken advantage of the plentiful outdoor seating, even though the temperature was in the 90s. If you have reason to be concerned about COVID-19 - and we do, since we are well along in years, this is a place to eat outdoors only.

Fun food, right at ferry, friendly atmosphere

We had lunch a few days after Hatteras travel restrictions were lifted following Dorian. They were already open though understandably missing a few items on the menu. Friendly attentive service and a very helpful waitress. Food is most thely sandwiches and there are no salads- worrisome for me because I have celiac disease and can't eat gluten. Our waitress immediately suggested the loaded nachos, which were delicious, as was the very tasty Italian panini my husband ordered. They're conveniently located in the complex of shops next to the ferry dock. We'll definitely eat there again when the ferry to Ocracoke is running again.

Awesome Nachos 🌶
