My husband and a dear friend from Seattle and I ate here three nights in a row and it was so tasty, I just can’t praise it enough. We had Zach as our waiter every time, and you will never meet a more helpful, friendly,...enthusiastic and happy waiter. This was our favorite restaurant in OBX. We ate there twice! Each time was sensational. The Shrimp Au Gratin was to die for! Great views and service. Ask for Trevor to be your waiter. He is adorable!!!
We ate at Dinky's twice during our weeklong visit to Hatteras. Fate was smiling on us when we had Trevor as our server the first time, and were able to request him for the second visit too. Outstanding service. The food was excellent. I'm vegan...and Trevor communicated with the chef and me to make sure that I got a dish that met my needs and was delicious. My husband loved what he got both times. The only "complaint" was from our 6 year old that they didn't have fries. I take no issue with that!More
We were told there was a 30 minute wait so we strolled the marina and property to wait. Within 15 minutes the delightful hostess found us outside and said a table was ready. Our table had a nice view of the waterfront area and the...atmosphere was pleasant. We started off with the calamari appetizer and it was excellent, cooked to perfection. Look how nice it was presented in our photo. We also split an incredibly fresh tuna dinner that was again cooked to medium rare perfection. What a chef!! The server was helpful and friendly. Top marks!! Plenty of parking available.More

The food was amazing and the service was superb. Olivia at the bar was outstanding! I’m a serious scallop fan and Dinky’s makes the sautéed or fried. I preferred the fried. The batter was light and crisp and couldn’t have been any better! Can’t wait...to go back!More
My family and I decided to try Dinky’s because of the reviews. We were not impressed. First my mom and I ordered apple martinis. For some unknown reason the bar tender put lemon in them. Our server laughed when I mentioned that they were made...wrong and didn’t offer to remake them. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and the oyster appetizers. Those were yummy, I would recommend them. For the main courses we ordered the chimichurri steak, jerk chicken (tasted nothing like jerk seasoning), Cuervo chicken, pork loin, and NY strip. Everything was just okay. For the prices they should have been amazing. I unfortunately won’t return to this restaurant.More
Although the place was packed, the service and food delivery was amazingly quick. We had the Seafood Pescatore and Rack of New Zealand lamb. Both dishes perfectly prepared. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Hatteras.

This is on our “to do” list while in OBX. Consistently good, beautiful view of the marina and sound at sunset, excellent food and top notch service. Don’t be in a hurry, room to have a drink & chat with friendly folks outside on the...deck if you have to wait. It is a cozy, relaxed environment and the food is always first rate. My husband had the filet mignon, which he said was superb. I had fresh shrimp sautéed in garlic and Chardonnay butter (wow), was amazing. Didn’t disappoint.More
We liked it so much we went back again! Great place, the food is fabulous, the scallops wrapped in bacon are the best I’ve ever had and the calamari was delicious, served with fried jalapeño peppers and a wonderful sauce. Extensive seafood choices, prime rib...on Fridays, chicken, pasta. And the desserts are fabulous, had salted caramel cheesecake with pretzel crust tonight! Service is excellent, ambience is perfect. Can’t say enough good things. We will come back every year!More
