Prime rib, steaks, and great desserts are what I look forward to when I visit J. Authur's. We always have at least one meal here when we visit Maggie Valley. Don't pass up the key lime pie.

When I was a kid on vacation, my dad always took us to the local steak house at least once. So when I recently rented a place in the mountains just outside of Maggie Valley, I felt obliged to take my family to J. Arthur's. The atmosphere was perfect: rustic, clean, felt like an old home-style family restaurant. The host/hostess... More

Ooh! We wish you would have told us about the rib eye! We certainly would have replaced it for as you know rib eye is known to be a chewier beef and sometimes its just a little too chewy. We have a customer satisfaction policy at J Arthurs and will go our of our way to make sure you are... More

We sat down and my 2 year old immediately started being a 2 year old spilt her water everywhere. The waiter was so nice and switched us too another table. Food was good I can't remember what we had but the onion rings were homemade and good!!

I have eaten here twice now and it is one of my favorite destinations in the area! Wonderful service, excellent food. I have tried a few dishes of mine and my wifes and they were all cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back again!

Prime Rib Gorgonzola salad martinis says it all! Enjoy! 30 years in Maggie Valley should sum things up. My wife and I go to J Arthurs once or twice a week.

Looking for a nice place to end our vacation in Maggie Valley. This place had great reviews, so thought we would try it. Have been 1,300 miles through the Blue Ridge & surrounding towns & this is the absolute worse meal we have had!! Ordered the rib eye special & needed a chain saw to get through it!!!!! Prices are... Oouch Helen and Bob, Just answered a lot of four and five star reviews and then saw yours. We are truly sorry that you had a chewy piece of meat. As you know rib eye is not a tender cut, however, we certainly expect it to be delicious with lots of flavor. Next time, just tell us, as any great... More

My family and I dined here on a recent trip to Maggie Valley. I found the food to be good but pricey for what we had. The service was also good but not exceptional. I'm not sure that we would dine here again.

We stopped there on our way there from Kentucky to Cherokee for lunch with our Aunt and Uncle. My husband and I had fish and chips which were some of the best fish I have had in a long time. They had a steak. I would go there again if I was ever in that area again.

We've eaten here several times when visiting the area because it's convenient to our hotel. The food is average, but not great. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, red onion slices and a wedge of tomato. That's all. The rolls were what you can find in the freezer section of the grocery. The entrees were fine, but certainly not exceptional.... More
