My parents and I ate lunch at Barney's on Easter Monday. The special was a chicken salad sandwich on your choice of white, wheat, or sour dough bread. All three of us ordered the special which came with your choice of chips with "fruit" or fries, for $6.00. The fruit turned out to be 2 strawberries cut in half in... More

We always stop here for a grilled cheese sandwich/vegetable beef soup when we are in the area. It's a charming little place with friendly small town people who immediately treat you like family.

I'm not sure why this says its closed BC we ate there on 2-27-16. It was great food and friendly people. They don't accept credit tho so make sure you take cash. I'm pretty sure there is an ATM in there tho. They have fast service and offer a variety of desserts. Great place to eat and its downtown close... More

Had the pork chop sandwich everyone seems to rave about and homemade vegetable beef soup. The pork chop was greasy and it's breading was blackened. The soup was tasty but the beef was ground beef. It tasted like a less-expensive version of Campbell's Veg. Beef. soup. On the bright side, it wasn't very expensive.

We stopped here on our visit to Mt. Airy (Mayberry). The restaurant is located in the downtown area and exhibits lots of posters and memorabilia of Mayberry, including signed posters from Barney Fife. It's a typical 'old time' downtown restaurant, with friendly staff and quick service. The food was average. While we'll undoubtedly visit Mt. Airy again, we'll probably select... More

I got to visit this great diner during Mayberry Days. It was packed but not with tourist but locals. Someone would walk in the door and immediately one of the waitresses would grab a drink for that person. So they knew exactly what the regulars ordered and were all set for them. I was there for breakfast and ordered an... More

We recently visited Barneys for lunch. It was Labor day weekend and was very busy,we had to wait for a table but were seated pretty quickly. The service was great and the staff friendly. The burgers and shakes are very good . We enjoyed the trip and seeing the town.

A few Weekend motorcycle rides a year are to Mayberry USA, known as from My Airy, NC. Lots of nice places to eat, but I don't think you get a better burger anywhere better than Barney's cafe. A huge tastey meat Pattie with great fixings. And try some pie. It's a small place and seat yourself. Only Cash, no cards... More
