Always crowded even in the off-season and for good reason. The atmosphere is casual, the staff are very good and the food is excellent. We have our lunch there every visit to Nags Head and that is a tradition that will continue.

This restaurant is a classic and the food is never a disappointment. We found this place by asking local residents where their favorite restaurant was. It has never been a disappointment .

This is not a fancy place, but the food was decent and the service we received was good. We did decide to sit at the bar and eat rather than wait for a table, and that was a good decision. The bartender was very attentive to our needs, put in our order quickly, and paid attention to our drink refills.... More

I've been going to Sam & Omies for 35 years. It's always my first dinner out when I get to the OBX. Fried oysters and Hatteras chowder. Both excellent. My wife almost always gets their marinated tuna sandwich also excellent. Good service. Prices are getting a little too high to go there all of the time

I ate breakfast...ham and cheese bagel..here. They were packed and still had time to be kind to each table. The biscuits were a hit. I heard dinners are great and they have the best cornbread!

Sam & Omie's is a Nags Head institution - with good reason: It always delivers. Great comfort food served in a down home, no frills atmosphere. A great mixer of locals and vacationers. Everyone is happy. Be ready for a wait but if you like food like mom used to make, the wait is worth it!

Great local breakfast place that has a great warmth and atmosphere. But, what kept us coming back was the sausage gravy. Probably the best we've ever had...and we've tried A LOT. The gravy is great on everything. There were four of us so we were able to try a few different things, all were tasty: French Toast, Fishcakes, pancakes, ham... More

We stopped in her because there wer a lot of local vehicles there on a Saturday afternoon. The smell of fried food hits you as soon as you walk in the door. The service was prompt and friendly. Crabs cakes were good but not great. Tuna steak ordered rare to medium rare came out over cooked but had decent flavor.

Shrimp Chowder is excellent, had never had it before and wish I got a bowl instead of a cup. BBQ also very good. Staff was on top of when glasses were empty they were there filling them

I had coconut breaded shrimp and almost canceled my entree to get two more orders of this appetizer. But glad I didn't. The scallop cake sandwich was delicious also. And the heath bar cake for dessert is as good a desert as you can get. Our service was fast and the people were friendly. Worth the drive.
