If there's a downside to visiting Nags Head, it's that there are limited choices for breakfast. Fortunately, the Dunes Restaurant fills that need. Very modern, spacious facility with a nice varied menu for breakfast. Moderately priced, with fast, friendly service!

I’m just really upset that this place is closed! It is my favorite restaurant in the area so far. A sign saying it was closed would be nice.

We walked in on Sunday at 11:45am, not realizing they close from 12-4. They were very friendly, good service and food was excellent. It was not until someone tried to come in at 12:30 that we noticed we were the only people in the restaurant.

Stopped in here for breakfast the other morning, kinda by accident. We were heading to the aquarium and missed our turn. Since it was a bigger area we decided to see what was available. Didn't see a whole lot of breakfast places so we stopped...More

The service here was awful. My coffee cup was constantly empty. I had to ask for more coffee and more water. the bacon was tasteless. The scrambled eggs were way too runny. I was told the sausage and gravy was excellent though. And, although, there...More

This local, Outer Banks restaurant is now in it's 35th anniversary season. That's probably why it's called a 'Nags Head Tradition' by locals. Currently open for breakfast daily. Weekends - spring and fall - and daily in the summer season, there's a robust fruit and breakfast bar plus some whopping good breakfast platters. When dinner opens shortly, Specialties are real southern cooking - like fried chicken. Also a specialty - local, Outer Banks seafood - broiled, fried, and always good. Steaks and prime rib round out the dinner menu. The "R" Bar is great for a late night meal or a special drink. And if all this isn't enough, there's Roxie's Retail - great, flirty finds for your home or wardrobe. It's a family run organization that is glad to welcome locals and vacationers alike.
