We eat here every year that we come to OBX. The food is great and we never have to wait long to be seated (we get there around 5:30pm). We had a large party of 10 people this year and everyone loved their meals. We...More

We have been coming to the dunes for over 20 years, I had the fried clams and popcorn shrimp with French fries and slaw...the portion of the combo was very small and cold. I remember looking forward to the dunes because of the freshest seafood...More

We went here for dinner, mainly because many of the other restaurants in the area were packed. We had a waiter, that was young and hopefully just learning, twice he was going to bring us fresh Hush Puppies and never did, he was fairly non-existence,...More

Our server was great which was nice. The fried chicken was ok but no real flavor to it at all. Hubby liked the soft shell crabs. It was ok overall but not memorable.

Just your average beach breakfast joint. They have a gift shops area to peruse while you are waiting. Although I only got the fruit at the buffet and ordered an omelet off the menu, the buffet looked very good and seemed to be popular among...More

Lovely staff. They gave us a pager and told us it would be 15 minutes. When they sat us I noticed the restaurant was only 1/3 full. Kind of funny but I didn't care. Don't expect to eat healthy here. Huge portions. Hushpuppies are addicting....More

Our hotel breakfast was not good so we went here and it was so yummy!!! The "little plates" are larger than normal plates, don't be fooled by that one!

Description
This local, Outer Banks restaurant is now in it's 35th anniversary season. That's probably why it's called a 'Nags Head Tradition' by locals. Currently open for breakfast daily. Weekends - spring and fall - and daily in the summer season, there's a robust fruit and breakfast bar plus some whopping good breakfast platters. When dinner opens shortly, Specialties are real southern cooking - like fried chicken. Also a specialty - local, Outer Banks seafood - broiled, fried, and always good. Steaks and prime rib round out the dinner menu. The "R" Bar is great for a late night meal or a special drink. And if all this isn't enough, there's Roxie's Retail - great, flirty finds for your home or wardrobe. It's a family run organization that is glad to welcome locals and vacationers alike.
