The perfect refuge from high winds on a chilly day. Ate early dinner and enjoyed the notation of local sourcing...by name...of the provider of my deciduous, fresh red drum fish & side dishes. Well prepared & presented food. A bit pricy, with causal dress the...More

This restaurant is one of our favorite places to eat. It's upscale, but casual. If you are yearning for local seafood and vegetables, this restaurant is worth the cost.

Spent three days in the Outer Banks, ate at Basnight’s the first evening. No one else could live up to Lone Cedar. I had bone in, lightly breaded fried flounder. It was delicious, and cooked perfectly. Wife had broiled scallops, also delicious. The restaurant also...More

We went on a recommendation that this place was fantastic, we were very disappointed! The food was not very good, neither was the service & for the prices it was way over rated. Too pricey to take a family out to mediocre food

The best meal we had during our stay in Nags Head. The food is always great, but dinner, appetizer, and dessert were perfect. The grits cake with melted pepper jack cheese was excellent so was the crab dip.

Since her last visit to the Outer Banks, my wife has been wanting to try Basnight's Lone Cedar. The restaurant is right on the bay & offers unbeatable viewing & a charming atmosphere. The first thing we noticed is that there is a $4 splitting...More

We celebrated my birthday tonight with a wonderful meal at Lone Cedar. Beautiful view out the window. We weren't the only ones celebrating. One table near us had an anniversary going on (complimentary Hershey cake), a woman found out she's going to be a grandmother...More

We've eaten here for years when vacationing in Duck, NC--this year twice in April. Our last and FINAL visit was for my husband's 80th birthday on October 5. Our dining experience was completely ruined by the rude, nasty so-called maitre d' who seated us. The...More

Description
At Lone Cedar Cafe, we specialize in fresh and local seafood. If you're craving the freshest fish, clams, crab, shrimp and oysters from local North Carolina waters, you'll find them at the Lone Cedar Cafe. For generations, Outer Banks families made their livings - and their daily meals - from the bounty of local waters, caught fresh every day. Our family, the Basnights, were part of that history, and we continue the tradition today by serving only the freshest Outer Banks seafood, caught in local waters and brought to our docks daily by local fishermen, then cleaned and prepared right here at the Lone Cedar Cafe. Our vegetables are "just picked" from North Carolina farms, we serve only all-natural beef and poultry and even our herbs and greens are grown in our own chemical-free garden on-site. Come enjoy delicious food, gorgeous sunsets and panoramic water views, the antics of our resident ospreys and our warm Southern hospitality.
