We stopped in New Bern on our way to Charleston. The owner of the B&B told us to go here for a nice dinner. Wow were we surprised. The food was outstanding. Good service too. Very small but a good wine list and very interesting menu. Everything we tried was excellent. Not inexpensive.

Dinner at this small, casual American-style restaurant was a top tier experience, with creative servings from the chef. Our group tried many dishes, and without exception all were wonderful. Don't forget to try the dessert sample: the portions are huge so all can share, and delicious!

A relatively small range of options for lunch, but the sandwiches are all excellent. Dinner options are carefully selected to be both delicious and seasonal. Desserts were all lovely.

My wife and I shared an appetizer of pimento cheese & crab (lots of crab meat) and then she had the trout special with parsnip puree and I had the sweet potato ravioli with peanuts. All were very tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. And the waiter was very good in steering us to a bottle of wine we would... More

We enjoyed the tasting menu-- a lot of food, five full courses. Only one was perhaps less satisfying (parpadelle with pulled pork which we found too sweet). Everything else, (mussels, scallops, Shrimp and grits, and carrot cake) was excellent. The only criticism is, we would expect tablecloths and a bit more ambience.

We were so excited to eat here, the reviews had been great and indicated a fine dining restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed a faint haze in the air, like the kitchen was burning food. That should have been our first indicator. We sat on old dining dining chairs and the tables had no tablecloths. Service was decent, except... More

Service excellant. Food very good. Menu hard to decipher (two of the four of us had cell phones out trying to find definitions of terms used on the menu) and quite pricey. Small but intimate place. Must have reservations because it is so small. Don't have to go back anytime soon, but would if a family member, or friends, wanted... More

I see a lot of reviews complaing about the noise level. This is a cozy place with amazing food and I would NOT pass this up! Hidden gem in New Bern! We discovered it as we were walking by. I tried a summer soup which was a cold pea and mint soup. To my surprise it was fantastic. I absolutely... More

Arugula salad was extremely salty. The carrot/ginger soup had a lovely flavor but was lukewarm. The scallops were good. The special, Trigger fish was just fair. The dessert was the best dish. Their carrot cake is to die for! Been awhile since we've eaten there. It was good, but nothing special. Our waiter was new and not too knowledgeable.

Glad we made reservations! This place is small and busy. Every table was booked. Our table was right near the door and it was a little distracting at times as folks came and went and were turned away. It gets a little noisy at the front end of the seatings, but once food gets to the table, things quiet down... More
