Stopped for lunch & was delighted! Great flounder, oysters & catfish. We enjoyed the hush puppies too!

We love to support local business and we assume this is one. However, this place does not live up to the standards of a good seafood restaurant. We ordered fish and chips, which should be a good but simple indicator of quality. First, It took...More
While on vacation in NewBern, NC, we ate dinner at Friday's 1890 Seafood restaurant. As the title of this review states, don't judge the restaurant by its trappings outside. While the rustic look may make some shy away from this little gem of the area,...More
speed of service excellent food was good environment. very good give the cashier a raise. The people who served me are very friendly and make sure I get what I order.
Nothing fancy. The only thing we had there was a combination of shrimp and scallops with french fries and coleslaw. We both enjoyed our meal.

We gave Friday's another try. The food is average, some can use more seasoning. DO NOT TRY THE CRAB CAKES.... they are just crab flavored balls of stuffing!
