We were in Pembroke to see a ply at the Givens Center. We asked for a recommendation for dinner at the venue when we picked up our tickets They suggested Sheff's Seafood. Well, I am sure the locals love it because the place was busy but it was not quite what we expected. We couldn't get a glass of wine... More

Sheff's offers great seafood, but also a diverse menu for non-seafood folks. I highly recommend the shrimp, both boiled and fried. Great hush puppies.

Good place to eat seafood. Most of which was fried, but there were a few other options. Large enough for groups.

The food was great, I highly recommend the catfish! My husband had the ribs and was pleased. But what we will remember long after the meal was the hospitality! We had two waitresses and several others, including the owner, stopped by to ensure we were enjoying our meal and our visit to Pembroke. The building is beautiful and restored/repurposed amazingly!... More

If you are looking for a healthy place to eat then this is not the place for you. Their seafood is mostly fried. They do however, have a great salad bar and they offer other things than seafood such as beef tips. I have been going to shef's for over 15 years and I still enjoy it. To me, it is... More

While working with UNCP, several folks recommended this restaurants and overjoyed to be going here to eat. The food is ok. It tasted ok, the hushpuppies were good, and service was great, but I'm well traveled and had amazing seafood in other places. If they would not have spoken up this this place, I'd probably give it one more star,... More

Stopped for an evening meal and was pleasantly surprised to get a huge plate of seafood for a very modest price. The wait staff was fantastic, attending to my needs and asking if I needed anything else. While there a lady who I suppose was the owner due to her actions and the actions of the employees took the time... More

If you are looking for a healthy option where the fish is freshly caught, seasoned lightly, and broiled to perfection, well look elsewhere because at Sheff's you gonna get it fried, fried, and mo' fried. The flounder was a flop but the scallops rocked harder than Klaus Meine's skull at Europop 2000. Know the risk, people, in going here.

Our annual visit to Pembroke (4 years now) has always included Friday night at Sheff's. While the service is still fine (friendly and courteous), something has changed. The menu seemed to have far fewer options, the servings were small, and the food was just OK. Overall this was an OK yet disappointing meal based on previous experience.

This place is one of the best restaurants I've visited. The food is excellent and the service was superior. I must say that after this experience it is evident that quality service and excellent food is not a thing of the past. You will definitely find it right here at this restaurant. Thank you so much Teresa for the suggestion.... More
