Everybody we came in contact with was pleasant, helpful and caring. The food was great, plenty of options for kids. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely go back when in Raleigh.

Food was great and service was even better. Pulled pork with baked beans and sprouts. Weather was so nice I sat outside. Great place to watch the world do their thing.

BBQ is king here! We have gone many times and really enjoyed it! The Pit is our Go TO place for birthdays! With three college boys that's all they want MEAT! I love the atmosphere it is always hopping, MAKE reservations. Try the sampler platter, great for people who do not understand that BBQ is a noun! The Sampler plate... More

My wife and I like to go here for lunch on Sundays since we can walk there and they have lunch prices on weekends until 3 pm. The food is delicious, but it is definitely not the best BBQ joint in Raleigh. However, the location and atmosphere definitely makes it a top 5 restaurant in Raleigh. The prices also reflect... Pretty much have tried all of their BBQ items. Favorites are the pulled or chopped pork, ribs and turkey. Least favorite is the brisket. But believe it or not, their fried chicken is THE BEST we've had in the area. If you get a combo plate, make sure to include the fried chicken :)

This was my first time here, but apparently the Pitt is well known for the NC bbq which was absolutely delicious. Everything was excellent, but greasy (as its supposed to be). Staff were lovely, kind and helpful. Ambiance was sort of a retro, warehouse, artsy vibe. Fun and satisfying place.

I ate the turkey bbq and it was quite dry and bland. The sides were OK. The pit is not worth the hype.

IMHO this place has very good tasting BBQ, fried chicken and ribs, vegetables are also good, especially the okra. However, to me this place is a little too much. Strip down the downtown location and fancier decor and you have southern food, which isn't expensive to make. But IF you want an upscale location with southern cuisine, this is your... More

Though we have lived in the area for several years, this was my first visit. What a great place! The fish was amazing and the barbecue was perfect. Service was quick and efficient. Tea served in large jars and is cold and sweet. Will definitely visit again!
