Five of us went for a relaxed dinner, hosting a guest who loves sushi, and we were all pleased. Some of us picked a roll or tempura and salad or soup, while two of us picked the "Sono’s Choice," 7 pcs. Chef’s Choice Nigiri and the choice of a roll. I chose a Rainbow Roll (Blue Crab, Tuna, Salmon, White... More

Sushi was ok, gyoza was ok, Bento box was ok. No serious complaints, but there are a lot of options in the area besides this for lunch.

Great dining environment and food and beverages. Excellent sashimi and sushi combos. Best ramen in the town.

Sushi was OK. Portions were very small. Took forever to get an order from the kitchen. (Tempura Shrimp).

I just visited Sono on February 1, 2017. It had been about a year since I had last been to Sono. I love the two specialty rolls the screaming 0, and the crunchy Diablo. My wife and I went there for dinner. I was less than satisfied with the prices. They would always have a two for one roll or... More

I happen to visit Sono on back to back days during the first week of February. Unfortunately, my impressions declined between the two meals, and while I still think Sono was a very good place for Japanese food and sushi, my impressions came back to earth after reflecting on my experiences overall. For lunch, our table ordered an angry tuna,... More

We tried Sono this past Friday and we're very impressed with the food, wait staff and atmosphere! Glad we made reservations since they were busy. Only down side is lack of parking, but that's an issue with nearly all downtown restaurants. Try the Screaming O sushi roll. Excellent!

This is a good place to eat sushi in downtown Raleigh. I've been to other sushi restaurants in that area and none compare to Sono. Be aware it's a little pricier than your average sushi restaurant. This is more upscale. "Dressing up" is not required, but I would advise it.

While the atmosphere is nice, and it's location very convenient for Downtown activities, it's just not that good. The food was mediocre, same for their cocktails. Staff was attentive. Overall, better lunch place than dinner.
