Seriously, if you bash this place, the chef or the food go elsewhere and don't leave a crappy review. This is a one man show and he is in a category all to himself. This being said, the food was perfect the service was great and we will be back!

It was our first time here, so let me explain the process: 1.) the owner waits on your table. 2.) He recommends the bread of the day, an amazing appetizer, a delicious entree, wine to go with that entree... you 3.) say, "yeah, that all sounds good. I trust you. You're passionate about your food, and I appreciate that.". The... More

I very seldom will leave a poor review but someone seriously needs to help this guy out - he is a Legend in his own mind - quite comical but not enough to return, ever. He asked us where we were from..we answered, Wake Forest and he chuckled and said 'Why?'. We said we knew what we wanted & was... More

Other than the awesome food, the Owner Joan himself greets you like family and tells you all the specialties he has prepared each day. You don't need the menu to order because his daily specials are all you need from the homemade breads, to the soups served as a duo in the same bowl (don't pass up the soup), to... More

The chef is simply irritatingly overbearing; he was "up-selling" instead of just letting us order! Very expensive for mediocre to awful food--as a foursome, we spend almost $200, including tip and wine, which requires two glasses due to small pours. And we didn't know the price of the wine due to the controlling nature of the chef-server, besides taking forever... More

Excellent authentic Spanish food. All the different dishes that we order were very will prepared. The service was very good. A bit on the expensive side for food and drinks,

We have known Tasca Brava for more than 12 years and they have the best paella valenciana we have ever eaten. Better than paellas in Valencia. Other entrees like fish, solomillo, or chuleta are also delicious. Tapas like pan de queso, gambas al ajillo, chorizo, padrón peppers, or empanadas are a must try, with so many choices, come ready to... More

This restaurant is authentic ...... Enjoyed various Spanish cheeses, meats and coquettes tapas and followed by black squid ink paella..... Felt like I was back in Barcelona! We finished with some decadent home made chocolates and a flan that was second to none! This is now my favorite restaurant in downtown Raleigh!

Tuesday night- we were the only customers. The owner is your server. He is passionate and attentive. As far as the long wait times, I found it no longer than other nicer restaurants....and we had paella, which needs plenty of time to begin with. We received our starters quite promptly. The atmosphere is nice....Spanish music, decor, etc. It is on... More

Tasca Brava has been described as "the little gem" and was placed on the list for the Top Ten Restaurants in the Triangle by the local press. This is because Tasca Brava is a careful blend of everything that is good about Spanish style, cuisine and hospitality, that go together to create a unique authentic relaxed atmosphere, where the visitor chooses to eat or drink as the mood takes them.. Tasca Brava is above all about Tapas, those small individual portions that offer a very flexible and sociable way of dining and most people dine when they visit Tasca Brava. You can eat as much or as little as you like at any time of day, allowing people to suit their own appetites.
