The Highway Diner is a mandatory component of any dining out list for Rocky Mount, North Carolina. As its name indicates, it is a diner conveniently situation (for those travelling north or south on I-95) with typical diner food. My wife and I drop in about once a month or so when we want something simple (meatloaf ... barbecue chicken... More

The Highway Diner is delicious at breakfast! The portions are large, and the food is so good. The staff offers friendly customer service, and the decor is super cute!

Had dinner; meatloaf, potatoes, and green beans and finished it off with carrot cake. Good food, clean place, and all the old school stainless steel! Loved it. Wait staff was friendly, didn't rush me, and was attentive but not a bother. Just a nice, nice place!

The burger with onions and bacon were great. The fries could have been more crisp would still recommend. Service was nice. Limited menu.

Found this diner through Trip Advisor. We didn't want lunch at a chain restaurant. This is an oldies , southern style diner. Prices are very reasonable and some things are homemade. The chicken sandwich is $4.99 and comes with frozen crinkle cut fries. The sandwich is very tasty. They have a soup or chili and 1/2 sandwich for $6.99. The... More

Whenever my wife has a taste for cake she always sends me to Highway Diner. We like the variety of not only their cakes but their pies as well. I ordered a slice of blueberry pie on this last visit and offered some to my wife. My wife isn't a big blueberry lover but she tried it and loved it.... More

The atmosphere is really neat, very old school, and the staff is crazy friendly. The menu choices are very vast but quite unique and the food is very consistent. Fried Green tomatoes are offered as a side item all of the time. Really cool place to have lunch.

This is the place for a great omelet, a really great bacon cheeseburger or a mouth-watering piece of chocolate cake. Then there are the milkshakes. Wow.

Everything was perfectly OK convenient location in route to the hotel. Service as good as a guest thank you. When you're traveling across America small things mean a lot in Rocky Mount lovely town to Pass thru.
