One of two bar-be-que places in Shelby. Wonderful! Like the child's chopped. Meat, slaw, fries. Seniors get free tea.
The most famous barbecue restaurant in Shelby is Red Bridges Barbecue, located on Highway 74. The second most famous is Alston Bridges Barbecue. I have eaten at both and I think I like Alston Bridges Barbecue better. I recently ate there and the meal was...More

We no longer live in NC...but try to eat at Bridges when we can get to Shelby before they close!! Happy to say that the quality hasn't changed....and the service was good.
not as good as Red Bridges.Dryer, less flavorful for us. We have eaten at Red Briges many times. The main difference between the two is that Alston Brdges is plainer, than Red Bridges. Hush puppies milder less flavorful.
