My aunt, friend and I had dinner here and it was ahhhhmazing! The atmosphere was great, the owner was so kind. She was so approachable and willing to explain things to us and answer our questions. When I hinted that I needed mayonnaise for my fries she said "I know what you need, I do the same thing!" and she... More

Tropical Grill is an oasis in downtown Spruce Pine! You have to try it. I highly recommend the Cuban, cucumber salad, and the plantains!

Colorful gem in mountainous Spruce Pine! The mango garlic chicken was delicious and plentiful. The menu was extensive, offering many international dishes. The atmosphere was friendly and staff eager to please. Definately will go back to The Tropical Grill!

My wife and I have eaten at the Tropical Grill several times, most recently yesterday. Lunch for sandwiches. They've all been excellent. Actually, we just had one sandwich yesterday, the Cuban (which they say is their specialty), which we split. $11.00 plus a $2.00 share charge. It also came with a small container of cole slaw (they were out of... More

We were in town for the Peak to creek marathon and needed to have a substantial dinner, after googling some places we decided to give this spot a shot and it was super worthed. I had the Paradise Burguer and my wife chose a Desgranado with steak. Both dishes were delicious and plenty of food to take home, I also... More

This place is definitely worth stopping in even if it is out of your way. Of the dishes my wife and I have tried each had wonderful flavors. They have something to offer from mild and sweet too spicy hot. Delicious!

This is a bright restaurant, but tiny! Only eight or nine tables. Great food, good variety, and attentive service made this a wonderful meal with friends. The Cuban sandwich was absolutely outstanding, and every one enjoyed what they had.

I can't count the number of times we have eaten at the Tropical Cafe. The restaurant serves consistently good food. The menu is HUGE with a lot of items. Your only problems will be seating a large party (very small and intimate setting) and narrowing your choices from the menu! We love the owners and the food - this one... More

I had the Cuban Sandwich and Black Beans and Rice with the Quatro Leche cake. It was the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is very relaxing. It's a small place so sometimes the wait can be a bit BUT it's so worth it. I go there every year after we attend a Ladies Retreat for our church. I also... More

Description
Found high up on the Blue Ridge of the Appalachian Mountains, "The Tropical Grill" is here to give you an unexpected dining experience. As you exit off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Spruce Pine, NC, go to "Upper Street" in downtown Spruce Pine, across from the Wells Fargo Bank. Tropical Dishes from around the world... Not found anywhere in the mountains and in some cases nowhere else in the Continental United States, unique and original. Dishes from Central America, Colombia, Cuba, the Caribbean, Asia and of course all your favorite Country Style American Home Cookin'. Lunch and dinner includes a full deli and grill with our Philly cheese steak, ruebens, burgers, paninis, Cuban sandwiches and our famous "Riveria". Tropical selections for lunch and dinner include: Fish Tacos, a complete vegetarian and gluten free selection, our famous Tropi-chop platter, Pollo ala Plancha, Steak Argentina and our popular Quesadillas. We have a full line of salads, including our Caribbean salad, our Asian salad and our Greek Salad. Our Quatro Leche dessert cake is to die for! Dine in or take out. Catering is our specialty. PURCHASE OUR GUATEMALAN IMPORT PRODUCTS TO HELP SEND PROCEEDS TO THE MISSIONS IN GUATEMALA. By purchasing our Import products, you are helping the Guatemalan people in many ways. First you help put monies into the Mayan economy. This provides economic opportunities for entire villages that otherwise have very little hope. Secondly, proceeds from your purchase go back to the missions in Guatemala that provide a much needed medical service and supply. But most important, understand it is our primary task to reach each Guatemalan with the "Good News" of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
