This is an extremely great place. Super delicious German food, and a good atmosphere. We all had a great time - the wait staff was awesome and did everything we wanted. Will certainly go back the next time we are in Wilmington.

We visited the cotton exchange this summer and ate at the German Cafe. I had a delicious ham sandwich and a fabulous cake for dessert. I would recommend stopping by if you are in Wilmington. It's such a beautiful location. The staff was very friendly and the food was on point.

My wife and I decided to give it another go, service is always good, ordered each the Jager schnitzel, for dinner. Portions were meager food was bland very pricy. Not like in Germany. I will continue to make my own.

The best German food I have ever had stateside! The service is top notch, the food is delicious, the decor makes me feel like I'm back in Germany. The desserts are freshly made and really top of the whole experience!

My husband and I had lunch here. The staff was very welcoming on entering. You pass the dessert case on entering and we bought a strudel to go before we even sat down. We had an order of pork schnitzel with German potato salad and exchanged side salad for red cabbage. It was delicious. We also had lunch special of... More

This is a good hidden gem. We have had dinners here at least 6times each year for the last 8 years. I've only ever had 1 "ok" dinner the last 8 yrs and I'm pretty sure the normal cook was off. Husband loves the wiener platter and I like the reuloden ! The desserts are homemade and TO DIE FOR.... More

Happened across this place on a rainy day while shopping in the cotton exchange. The food was excellent, and the desserts were absolutely the best. Very reasonably priced, our lunches were only about $8 per person and we left very full.

My colleagues and I came here for dinner on the eve of the Azaleas festival and the place was empty! As a guest to this area, I'm thinking, am I at the right place? Would my friends take me to a terrible place for dinner? I can't speak to why the place was empty but it's not because of the... More

Just what I was after - a draft brew and a german wurst with kraut and potato salad. The waitress was friendly and attentive, the food was served quickly, and the price was reasonable. The taste was exactly what I thought it should be and seemed authentic (it's been 40 years since I actually visited Germany so I'm not an... More

Excellent German cafe. Some of the best German food in the USA! Brats were perfect and the beer was also. I will certainly go back for more. Also the waitress was super good.
