Stopped by for a Tea & bagel. Clean place, but no real ambiance. Some local books, shirts etc for purchase. Kind of empty , definitely needs some life. People eating seemed satisfied though.

I love this coffee shop. The smell of roasted coffee drew me to it - literally followed my nose! Buy it by the kilo. Great books and souvenirs as well.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our Aug/Sept 2016 trip through Newfoundland. We are a couple in our 50s/60s and were looking for somewhere quiet, where there is space to move and where we could cook in (we're not big fans of B&Bs). This lower level apartment (it is below a coffee house/restaurant) was perfect for our stay in... More

We visited for lunch and all ordered sandwiches - two were good and the other four not so great. The bread was stale and fixings sparse. The building and atmosphere nice though and hope that my next visit will be more positive.

If you want to go "where the locals go" that seems to be the place. One of the best smoked salmon/cream cheese bagel i have ever had. Not a big place in not a big town so be willing to accept menu limitation such as no espresso.

Enjoyed delicious chowder and Mercantile coffee...yummy. Staff was very friendly and it seems this is very popular spot.

The smoked salmon bagel was made with freshly made bagels, REAL smoked salmon chunks, fresh cream cheese and melted in our mouths. Great way to start off a long day of driving.

Had to ask where the coffee shop was as the building is not well signed as a coffee shop. Great coffee and goodies and sandwiches available too.

One of the tastiest bagels ever with lots of fresh smoked salmon, capers, onions and cream cheese. Nice casual eating experience

We stopped for lunch on a rainy, windy day, and loved the bright, spare room and simple menu. We had an assortment of soups, chili and sandwiches, with a few dessert squares and excellent coffee. Everything was homemade and very good. Again, this is a small community, not a big city, but Trinity Mercantile would stand up well against most... More
