Dinner was outstanding with choices that I recognized from my Scottish mother's repertoire. Selection is limited but we still had a hard time not choosing one of everything. Service was attentive and the waitress was amenable to a short chat. Breakfast was very Scottish and the oatcakes were so good we complimented the chef and got the recipe. Also, the... More

The Inn is out of the way and not something you'd be likely to happen upon otherwise but still easy access once you know where it is. The grounds are impressive as you drive down a long treed lane way to a a 1920's lodge style building where we had dinner. The service was attentive although we did feel we... More

This location had been recommended by a friend in Nova Scotia and the Information Center at the entrance to Cape Breton made the booking for us as they said most accommodations on the Cabot Trail were sold out. The location is well off the main road but there are adequate signs. Very rustic and we stayed in the cabins. Restaurant... More

Each time we vacation in Cape Breton we plan a meal reservation at this charming inn. Unique, home made and very good! It's part of an old inn and we love the atmosphere, the staff is very attentive and polite. Usually after our dinner we attend an event that's held in the barn.

The surrounding nature is just amazing, the room itself was ok. Service was very friendly and helpful too. We had dinner there and our impression was, that's too expensive for what you finally get - leaves a bit the impression that they take advantage of the lack of competition... but despite the price, the dinner was good and healthy. Annoying... More

Enjoyed a full 3 course dinner. Food was excellent, atmosphere was great and the after dinner entertainment in the living room was a plus!

The food is good, in fact so much better than the rooms that it is surprising. Our room featured a hot tub. But there was never enough water to fill past the jets. The place really needs money spent on it. See photos. Single-ply toilet paper, ultra-small shampoo containers, aged faucets etc. This was the worst value of our 16... More

Went to hear a concert but got there early and had dinner. Hostess was very amiable and found us a table within a few minutes even though we did not have reservations. Food was very good and somewhat pricey. The concert at the barn afterwards was lots of fun. Everyone very friendly and we loved the music and the muscians.
