We have been here many times and it is always great- large amount of seating to accommodate larger groups. The food is fantastic and fast and the service is great every tie!

Good variety of menu choices. Good service- prompt and friendly. Dinning room is quiet. Decent wine list.

I have had the pleasure of eating at the Fo'c'sle several times. Their food has been consistently good. They have great breaded chicken wings on wing night too! But I have to tell you. I ordered their fish and chips and quite honestly I was surprised to find they were different than any other fish and chips I've ever had.... More

In Chester for a weekend celebration with a group of friends. Haven't visited here in 20+ years...such a welcome return. Pub grub with an East Coast vibe in the pub. Restaurant a little more upscale. Oldest pub in Nova Scotia. Worth the trip for that alone. Full of regulars after the summer social crowd has left. Great vibe. Daily fish... More

This place has been around for hundreds if years! A traditional style pub with a nicer cafe/restaurant at the front.

It was our first time in Chester and we wanted to check out this historic pub. The meal was good, the service was prompt. It can be a bit loud but it is a pub with a quieter space to eat. When we got there, the quieter dining room was full so we had to eat in the pub area.... More

On our way to Lunenburg, NS two couples stopped into the historic pub, The Fo'c'scl, for lunch. We were seated at a nice window-side table. Three of us ordered lobster bisque with a side salad and the other ordered the larger seafood chowder. We tried the Rickards Red, which was great. A twenty ounce glass for $5.65...what a deal! The... Have been here several times and never had a bad meal. Quaint atmosphere, friendly service. The Sunday prime rib is delicious, as is the lobster croissant special and club sandwich. Good desserts too....the apple crisp is huge! All good.

A variety of dishes from steak to pasta kept us and our teenager happy. A eager and helpful staff answered all our questions as we enjoyed a relaxing Sunday supper.

This was my first visit to Nova Scotia and therefore to CHESTER. Popped into this little "pub" and chose to sit at a pretty window side table in the restaurant area, NOT the bar/pub area. It was a pretty room, lots of natural light. Original artwork by local artists on display and for sale. GREAT menu choices. I close a... More
