I have attended a Live Band event in this restaurant, where I was surprised with the family atmosphere, the friendly staff and the delicious food. I tried their special Haddock Dinner, it was delicious!! I ordered a special drink and they made it just as...I expected. The sweet was a tiramisu and it was the best. This place is awesome and I will visit it again soon Regards TamerMore

We were biking the Confederation trail and saw the cafe with sign advertising Lennie Gallant concert that eve. We are from Calgary and heard Lennie at our local folk music club and loved his music. Cafe was closed when we rode by, but I knocked...on door and very friendly manager, Pat, informed us they were sold out for the evening, but he’d contact me if tickets became available. He did better than that, and actually arranged for us to sit at the table of a lovely local family. What a fabulous evening! Amazing company and friendly east coast hospitality, delicious food, and a fabulous concert in a venue of obvious significance to Gallant and his band.More

We have always regretted not going as we drive by there every year but this time we bought tickets for a concert and went for dinner before hand. Food was excellent and our server was attentive and very nice. Make sure you save room for...home made desserts which they serve during the concert. Saw Madison Violet play and will be returning for more dining and entertainment. Book ahead for the bands you like or just take a chance and I am sure you will not be disappointed.More

Our bed and breakfast recommended this place to us. We arrived at 6;45 pm and we were seated with a smile. This place is run by a husband and wife team. Ordered the mosquito mojito and it was fabulous, followed by the humus as an...appetizer. I had the curry chicken which was delicious and a huge portion that I could not finish. My girlfriend had the hamburger which she loved. Rhubarb crisp for dessert was perfect. The musician tonight was Jenna Barry, very talented with a great voice. Next time I'm in PEI I will go back to eat there.More

Classic east coast hospitality with very talented voices performing light entertainment. It was truly a great experience in a fun atmosphere. The brunch was very basic well prepared food served efficiently. There are 3 different breakfasts that are offered - no fancy menu, great baked...beans, sausages, scrambled eggs and good coffee. The Hellfire Caesar was really good. Great east coast experience!More

Be sure to check their website for upcoming music. Food is delicious! Off the beaten path from most touristy things, but worth the visit for sure.

Decent wine list, varied pub menu of good food in an old Inn setting augmented by great acts...We saw Nudie play last night...He was very entertaining and fun and well worth the price of admission. Interacts in a fun way with the audience and has...a diverse play list of his own music and other classic tunes. Country, folk, honky tonk type of music. Happy to take requests. Search him out you will enjoy it..And discover or return to the Trailside...A Great, reasonably priced night out...More

It is rare to be able to experience terrific food and then just stick around and enjoy amazing music. Last night was such a night for us when my wife and I went for dinner and a show with the amazing and mesmerizing Tara Maclean....First, we had the seafood chowder. A large bowl of totally awesome goodness that would win first prize every time. Perfectly done, and very satisfying fresh-caught halibut and roasted veg followed. We shared a good crumble for desert. Of note, the chowder at $9 and halibut at $24 are the best value so far on the Island. The kitchen and wait staff must be commended and showered with high praise in a situation where over 100 people come in all at once at 6:30 and they are slammed with all these drink and food orders and where everyone is fed and done by 8-ish for the music. I don’t know how they do it but they sure did it. Hi 5s all around! Stacey, our server, was fun and just a pleasure to deal with. Shortly after 8, Tara came on after a 3-song opening act (who is a neighbour of Tara’s in BC). Tara was accompanied by her ex husband on guitar. They were plagued by technical issues in the first set but plowed thru without being frazzled. The second set was bang on, though, and she (and he) left us mesmerized and profoundly impressed with stunning music. She is such a sweetheart to boot. So Trailside has great concept going and they do it expertly. This place is a real treasure with a rare vibe to it. You would be missing out by not going.More

On a weekend motorcycle tour of eastern PEI, we woke up in Brudenell and wanted to find a good brunch. On-line searching produced predictable but unexciting results. Thank heaven that one of us thought of the Trailside's "Gospel Brunch" - Praise Be! I was surprised...to find that the brunch was not sold out (as many of the Trailside's concerts are) and we were able to get there just before showtime/chowtime). What great fun it was. Good food and drink in a rollicking atmosphere of ecumenical entertainment. We were all revived as if at an old time Revival. It was such a good experience that my partner and I went back two Sundays later with a passel of family visitors (including infants) for another dose of spiritual uplift and awesome victuals.More
