We visited the Red Lion for Sunday lunch having been recommended by a friend and they were right!! The pub has a wonderful feel to it, not least due to the landlord and landlady. They both made us feel very welcome and nothing was too...More

We live locally and thought we would give this pub another try! The décor has not changed and is still pretty dire - 'dull, dark and depressing' - the whole place looks unloved and not particularly clean. However, the worst part of our experience was...More

I have eaten here a number of times but only just got round to reviewing! Always an excellent meal and a friendly atmosphere. Yes it's true the decor needs updating but the quality of the food more than makes up for it.

Dear anon1234562017, We are very upset to hear you had such a disturbing visit to our pub on 14th July and that you were overcharged, the error was certainly unintentional. Unfortunately the décor is beyond our control as Punch taverns will spend no money on...More

Dear Kev H, I am sorry you were so disappointed with our Pub, especially as you never actually entered it. In fact you parked your car not in our car park but on the hardstanding outside the front, which is very dangerous to exit from...More

The Red Lion is a traditional English pub serving good ale, wine and exceptional food. We pride ourselves in using fresh, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Having run a fish restaurant for over fifteen years, fish stands prominently on the menu. We are open every day for food.
