We had an old friends 'get together' dinner here recently. There were a good selection of ales on offer which is always a good start. The menu is a mixture of good pub standards and a varied specials board. Two of our party had the duck confit, two had the burger and one had a fillet steak. All of the... More

This used to be a good venue but recently there has been a significant drop in quality of the food and there has been an increase in prices. We now eat elsewhere even though it means we have to drive, it's worth it for better food and value.

We are very sorry you feel this way. The ONLY price increase in recent times has been our Sunday large plate carvery. First increase in over 3 years. A smaller plate (standard size) is available at £10.50. The quality of our food should remain consistently high, indeed we strive to offer the highest quality in the area. However, occasionally something... More

I have been to this restaurant many times and never had a problem with anthing until this last visit. We had the sunday carvery which has gone up in price and is clearly too expensive at £14.95 a person now. The meat (lamb and pork) were both very tough and not the best joints of meat and the potatoes were... More

We are very sorry to hear of your disappointment. Our joints of beef and lamb are consistently sourced from a local butcher and are invariably the best we can get. The benefit of a carvery with the Chef serving you is that you get to choose the cut you want. The outer part of the joint will be well done... More

If you are near by, I would certainly stop here for food. We had a lovely lunch, from sandwiches to burgers, fish and chips and dessert all round. Just what was needed.

My sister came to visit and we took her to the Shoe for lunch. We hadn't booked and the place was busy, but they were very accommodating and after a short wait (10 mins) they found us a table. My wife and I had been before in the evening and sampled the fantastic fillet steaks and recommended this to my... More

Have eaten at the "shoe" on a few occasions before and have always been impressed. Visited again on Saturday, amazing food, efficient and polite staff, and a great pint of Adnams, what more do you want?

We went for a family birthday meal and had three courses. Muscles were lovely, terrine and Lincolnshire corn dog, all lovely. For mains we had fish and chips which were really great. Chicken katsu curry and duck leg all great. The puddings were great cheesecakes too. Nice atmosphere quick service.

We had a great meal here for our Christmas gathering. Fantastic food. Great wine. I only wish it was in walking distance! For a small restaurant there was plenty of menu choice.

Description
Set in the picturesque village of Offord D'Arcy between St Neots and Godmanchester, The Horseshoe Inn Restaurant successfully combines an old village pub and a gourmet restaurant. Known locally as The 'Shoe, the 395-year old period building has been extended but retains much of the original features and charm. The bars offer both low ceilings and rustic style, with exposed beams with Inglenook fireplaces. The frequently changing menu allows you to experience internationally influenced dishes such as Thai green curry or fillet steak with potato rosti, spinach and a blue cheese and brandy sauce. Dishes often carry a wine recommendation on the menu to help you choose the right selection. For an average of $25 per person, you can enjoy a three-course meal here, and should you choose something you don't like, they will offer you another choice! The Horseshoe appears to be lucky after all!
