Had a midweek tea with the Mr having heard good things about the Huntsman. Homemade chips with the skins left on really good. I tried the pie of the day which was beef and onion -ok. Brilliant puff pastry, nice flavour, the beef a little tough would've much preferred some stewed steak in there however I didn't leave any. The... More

This was our starting point for a six mile ramble around the Cheadle area, 18 of our group returned for lunch. Choice of food was pre-ordered hopefully helping the chef. We weren't disappointed, the food was excellent my fish chips & mushy peas were very good, A good choice of beers and service with a smile. Will recommend.

The Sunday roast was amazing and very generous portions. The staff were very helpful, going out of their way to get a smaller portion of food for our 1 year old. The service was great and the Mr loved the selection of real ale on offer. A great pint! Cosy and welcoming. We'll definitely be back (it's not worth the... More

Stopped here for Saturday lunch. Good menu choice and specials board. All prices around £8.95 for main. I had lamb casserole which came with veg and chips. Lovely presented. All cooked fresh so be prepared to wait. Our food came within 20 minutes of ordering. Place a little in need of updating but overall very good. Would return.

Stopped in on the way back from Alton Towers. Well worth saving your cash from there and stopping in. Good food, good fresh, well kept beer. I had a 6oz Gammon steak with change from a fiver. It was plenty of decent food. Couldn't complain. Five stars for not pretending to be something it isn't, but being better than I... More

A decent pub with an excellent reputation for food and Ale. I had Bear Rye at a stonking 5.5% and an amazingly reasonable 3.05. Nice enclosed garden for Lucy the dog and everyone friendly and helpful

Our third visit to this lovely pub. This time a Saturday evening. It wasn't overly busy, however there was a larger party in the restaurant end. We had a half hour wait, that was fine. We ordered the Irish Boxty and the pie of the day - Steak and Ale. The pie crust was burnt, the meat underneath a bit... More

We went to the cider festival here last night. We got there around 5.30 to try a couple of ciders before having dinner there also. The service was very good and the staff very friendly. The food was delicious, my partner had the Sirlion steak that was so tender he hardly had to cut and chew it and he said it... More
