What a great pub, the re-build, the ambiance, it's beautifully restored inside and out with quality fittings and fixtures. We had checked the menu online before visiting and were aware that the idea is to present quality food at a reasonable price, we weren't disappointed, really good value for money. All of the staff were lovely, courteous and knowledgeable, we will definitely be returning to a pub that was warm and welcoming.

Been coming here regularly since it was refurbished a year or so ago & food and atmosphere day/night is always lovely and very reasonably priced for the quality too. Was particulay nice to come into a real fire on a cold snowy winters evening and our waitress Kalleese was very attentive when taking our orders/serving food/checking everything was ok and clearing this away at the right time too, as was Kayleigh behind the bar and all the other staff on duty too. Fully recommended 5/5.

Second time visiting and again food was great but the waitress let the whole meal down. Sunday dinner was great then wasnt asked if we would like to see desert menu and was literally being blanked. I had to get up and ask to see the menu which she then brought over. Was then left for atleast another 15 minutes waiting to order. At this point we got up paid the bill and left. Literally costing the bussiness money. Will be going to the badger down the road next time.

Pre-booked the 2 course festive meal for 6 for Mon 12/12 at 5pm. We ordered 3 adult Turkey mains, 1 steak and 2 child meals with puds for 6. As we had reserved and ordered 2 wks in advance I expected a reserved table set for a festive meal in the restaurant. When we arrived we were told to find a vacant table for ourselves in the pub. Good job it was not too busy at that point! Did not seem organised or welcoming. I asked for a high chair which never arrived and cutlery!!!!! The turkey meals were poor. The stuffing ball was no bigger than a small sprout, and the pig in blanket could hardly be seen -more like a cocktail sausage wrapped in a tiny bit of bacon. The few roasters seemed overdone or warmed up and there was 1 piece of a parsnip which had probably been cut up to serve all 6 of us. The dishes of veg were a mis mash of peas, chopped carrots, 2 sprouts sliced to make them go further! and about 6 french beans (1 each). I had to ask for extra gravy, salt & pepper! & cranberry sauce. Which in fairness did arrive. The steak never arrived and was substituted with salmon. The puds were fine. On checking the bill we had apparently been overcharged by ÂŁ8.80 which was refunded but on checking it again when I got home I found we had been further overcharged for 1 pudding. The atmosphere was definately not festive just like the 2 run down candles on our table which were never lit. We do not intend to return.

Being a local business; The Royal Oak was the obvious choice for our works Christmas do; we booked this in October 2022. When booking we asked if we should pre-order each course; we were told that there was no need to as plenty of food would be prepared. As a business we spent over ÂŁ500.00 on this visit. It wont happen again, our employees work hard and we wanted to give them a great dinning experience, they deserve better than what The Royal Oak provided. Upon arrival; I noticed that the pub was almost empty which seemed strange so close to Christmas. It also seemed like we were not expected, we were sat on a glass round table which had not been cleaned well at all, it was greasy and sticky, there were no Christmas crackers or anything else festive about the table at all! We were told that a member of staff was off sick so they were short staffed. The lady that served us was polite and as efficient as she could be given the situation. The starters were ok, basic, the same starters looked very different and there was a long delay in all the starters arriving. Most of our party had Turkey as a main course which was very poor, meals were luke warm, some had stuffing, some didn't, vegtables were cold and tiny portions. Most people left the majority of there main course. Personally it was the worst Christmas dinner ive ever had. Pudding were basic with very little custard on the Christmas pudding. Overall the meal was poor, unfestive and not value for money at all. We as a business will not use this venue again to take our staff out or even go for a casual meal. Unfortunatly we stayed in the pub for drinks afterwards as nobody was driving and taxis were booked for later that evening and It would of been a real hassle to relocate.

Driven past many times so thought we'd give it a try. Very impressively refurbished inside and out. Also very busy with diners and drinkers. Barman said find a table and I'll bring you a menu over. 10 minutes later I got up and got my own. Eventually a waitress came over and took our order of a cajun chicken burger and a pie of the day which was steak and ale. Also a side of onion rings. Took maybe 20 minutes to arrive which we thought was acceptable being so busy. The huge onion rings were delicious and crispy. Good start. The pie was very hot. It had plenty of filling but in truth was nothing special. A reasonable portion of chips were freshly cooked and just right. Lots of gravy was already poured on tho which quickly made the chips soggy. The cajun burger looked quite plain and didn't taste cajun at all. The most dissapointing part of the experience was the chicken in the burger was barely warm. Obviously it had been let stand for a while. As we had been waiting for such a long time we didn't bother to complain. The drinks we ordered were very good. We may try again when it's less busy and see if the standards are better.

I wish and had hoped our Sunday lunch would have been relaxed, enjoyable and somewhere I would return with more family and friends. Sadly not, food lacking, service poor. I was so embarrassed that I’d taken friends and family for lunch and although they didn’t say anything their still full plates and untouched side dishes told me all I needed to know. Not being given the opportunity to reply to is everything ok? I discretely asked for the pub managers name. It clearly said at the bottom of the £95 receipt, please tell us if you’re not happy. I spoke to Paige, interrupting her from sitting down with I’m guessing locals, explained I wasn’t happy, Paige got distracted by someone else, I paid and we left. So disappointing but fortunately lots of other great places locally we’ll go to in the future.

After two impromptu visits since opening for drinks. We thought it would be the perfect place to take some guests over for a weekend meal. I'll start with the good points. The Royal Oak has been superbly renovated and the attention to detail is second to none. The atmosphere is there and with the right management, it can thrive to become the best pub in Nantwich (Cheshire east). The current menu is vast with the portion available comparative to the price is excellent. Now onto the negative. Once arrived, we were swiftly seated and with one of our guests nipping to the loo, the waiter managed to place 3 menus on table (despite it being booked for 4 and 4 coats being placed) putting a strange feeling that tonight the service might be a miss. After a small period, our order was taken. Two starters, four mains and a side order of onion rings. Cutlery was delivered but the waiter failed to bother asking/remembering who was having starters and just dumped the cutlery incorrectly. After the standard time, the starter arrived but only one. Giving the benefit out of doubt, we patiently waited for the other but after the other starter being finished and collected, I went to the bar to speak to the manager. The manager dealt with the issue professionally and apologised and blamed the mishap on the ordering system not communicating correctly and comped the starter... these things happen, so we let it slide. After bringing out the mains (& the missed starter) we noticed that the side of onion rings were no were to be seen after 5-10 minutes. After flagging down another waiter, they were brought out and yet again comped off the bill for being missed. The food was lovely and as stated above, the portion are generous but yet again, no check back was taken by the waiter and once the mains were collected, the waiter failed to ask if we would like to see the sweet menu or coffees etc so we decided to cut our losses and leave. ** Had to visit the bar and seek the attention of the GM for the bill again **. All in all, a lot of the issues we had are so standard that it's shocking that for the money that has been spent on the refurb, the basic staffing service you expect was missed.I would definitely visit again but hopefully after these teething issues have been smoothed out and further staffing training has been done.

After visiting this pub a few months back and having a disappointing experience with over cooked fish we decided to give them another chance, no improvement at all. The menu is totally different to what it is on the internet so this put a damper on us straight away. We were a party of 3 I had pie of the day (steak & ale) my dad had the same and my mum opted for scampi and chips. The scampi was very overcooked and the garden peas came out in a very chipped dish, when we pointed this out it was taken away and the peas (the same ones) were just tipped into another dish (the broken porcelain could of been within the peas) total health and safety issue. We expressed our disappointment and we’re offered dessert which we declined no mention of taking the uneaten scampi and chips off the bill till we spoke to the Duty manager who used the we have new staff excuse we did eventually get the meal taken from the bill but this is now the second time so we will not be returning.

I ordered a bottle of Heineken zero and was charged ÂŁ4.50! I had the ox cheeks for my food. The meat was tepid, mash had been warmed in a microwave but for too long so the centre was hard. The cabbage was warmed pickled cabbage from a jar and the vining at was all over my meal. I will never be returning.

Went for food, when we got there noticed nobody had any food in the restaurant, customers looked like they were just waiting, bit of a red flag, ordered a drink, had to queue despite it being relatively quiet and the 5 people behind the counter. Very odd layout in the bar had people queuing in front of tables with customers sat at them, nobody really seemed to know what they were doing. We decided against ordering food and left.

Ruined family festive get together. Visited for the Christmas menu. Table wasn’t ready when we arrived. When we were eventually seated the starter arrived and that was ok to be fair. The main however was awful! Couple of slices of turkey with one tasteless stuffing ball and one anaemic looking pig in blanket aboard 4 tasteless seemingly frozen roast potatoes and a dribble of gravy; accompanied by a big sharing bowl of what looked and tasted like frozen veg all mixed together. Nothing festive about them and if you had any dislikes of a particular veg that’s tough because it was all thrown in together. It was served without any sauces and as it was lukewarm at best we didn’t waste time asking. No check back to ask if the food was ok and when they did clear the table and I told them of my disappointment there was no apology or goodwill gesture they were clearly just happy to take almost £130 and let us leave. Big disappointment!

Having been impressed by my recent visit to the Royal Oak at Worleston it seemed an obvious choice for our works Christmas do. Unfortunately don't know what had changed in a few weeks but what a disappointment. Most of our party said that they wouldn't be returning to the Royal Oak, which is a shame as my previous experience had been excellent. Our table had been reserved for 7:30 but we were left at the bar until 8:45. We were left standing and jostled by the waiting on staff who were trying to get past with plates of food.No one came to explain or offer apologies or somewhere to sit, and when we did question why we hadn't been seated we were told the xmas party before us still hadn't left. Surely that is factored in when taking reservations for Christmas dos.But quids in for the bar. Once finally seated we still had quite a long wait for food and when it did come it was luke warm. I had pre ordered the steak but wasn't asked how I would like it cooked. Our vegetarians waited even longer for their pre ordered meals. Most of our party had ordered turkey and they said it was not hot. The festive veg, that accompanied the tepid turkey consisted of carrots. Just big bowls of carrots, not caramelised or pureed just chopped up - and the rare sight of a sliced sprout, so unless it was Kevin the Aldi festive 🥕 it wasn't very festive at all. Staff didn't come to check on us and service was pretty poor tbh. Such a shame.

The charming ambiance, complete with exposed beams and crackling fireplace, creates an atmosphere of rustic charm. The menu delights with a selection of classic British dishes, elevated to new heights with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Each bite is a celebration of flavor, expertly prepared and presented. We visited The Royal Oak at Worleston, for lunch today. We ordered of the light bites menu. I had a ham ciabatta with salad and coleslaw. The ham was off the bone and plentiful. The prawn equivalent the same, the beef equivalent also the same. The menu is varied, a good choice of starters and main meals We loved our desserts, the chocolate brownie and ice cream, the waffle, toffee sauce, and ice cream. The main meals are varied and there's something to suit all. We saw the burgers and fries, fish and chips come out. There looked a generous portion. There are several dining areas within The Oak, small intimate areas also a large function room etc. There's a children's area at the back which is secure, with swings a climbing wall etc. Lots of tables within the various outside areas for Al fresco eating. They are also providing wood fire pizzas, in addition to the main offerings The outside areas overlook open countryside, very calm and very relaxing. The Oak has been refurbished with architectural salvage, both inside and outside. The finish absolutely stunning. A real gem and a fabulous find, well worth a visit!
