Sorry for the delay in writing this review but I am not from the area and I have just finished giving positive feedback about another pub in the area so thought I should compare the two. We visited on Boxing Day and found it to be a great disappointment. The staff were clueless and the waiter didn't even know how... More

Been here at least half a dozen times both lunchtime and evening over the last couple of years visiting family in the Chester area and had consistently good beer, good food, good service in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The Boot Inn is at the end of a short narrow lane with a large signpost opposite the last turn, it's not... More

Lovely pub in a quiet location and a good starting point for walks in the "little Switzerland" area of Cheshire. Nice atmosphere with a busy bar in the evening, wood fires, good food is good which represents excellent value. The chips are well above the average for Cheshire.

A superb country inn with outstanding food. A very pleasant atmosphere with coal fires and traditional furnishings whilst being impeccably maintained. A really great place to eat after a country walk. The staff are exceptional, hard working, helpful, efficient and professional

We stopped in The Boot after a little walk in the countryside. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was very good. We had the fish and chips and the lamb Henry, both hearty portions, with fine flavor and lovely presentation. They have a substantial wine list and various beers on tap. There is also outdoor seating with... More

We were with friends who had their dogs with them so could only sit outside (will leave the friends at home next time) but this is a lovely pub unfortunately we didn't stay for food just some hot chocolates and a pint of local Cheshire Cat ale will definitely... Found this piece of history on a weekend visit to Chester. Such a lovely place, warm and inviting. Highly recommend you hunt this place out and give it a visit.
