Excellent lunch at Piste which was busy but not noisy. Service was attentive and timely. The menu had good variety - lamb beautifully cooked and very generous. Loin of COD was also excellent. This is my third visit here in about 6 weeks and the...More

Very disappointed with what used to be an old favourite in Tarporley. Long wait for food and drinks order to be taken and then brought to the table. Food was average and we were all disappointed. Staff are young, seem to not care about customer...More

We have visited Piste a couple of times now. Whilst our first visit wasn't an overwhelming success; but there were small areas of expertise verging on brilliance. Unfortunately, not on this occasion. The cod with okra in a tomato sauce was weirdly tasteless. Sorry, on...More

Ate at Piste for the first time a few days ago. We thought the food was fantastic but the place was busy and the wooden floors made the noise level so high that it was almost impossible to converse with our friends. It would be...More

Enjoyed a “catchup” with the “girls” Thursday Evening... We cannot fault the staff or food in anyway, Nothing was too much trouble for Olivia who served our table in a professional but friendly and cheery manner. We ordered Châteaubriand...cooked to perfection.. Well done Piste

I went on a Monday evening with a friend and had the set menu. Our dinner cost about £30 each including drinks and coffee, I think. Certainly I thought it was a good price at the time.

Description
Cheshire village Tarporley, although not well known for ski slopes, is home to Piste Wine Bar and Restaurant. Owners James Hughes and his brother-in-law Paul Bebe explain that the name started off as a joke but soon seemed, with its cosy ski chalet associations, to represent the rustic friendly feel they had in mind for the restaurant. The pair pride themselves on modern European cuisine using only the best ingredients; the beef is sourced from Aberdeenshire, the lamb from the Welsh Valleys and the pork is all from Lincolnshire. The fish is delivered daily from the Cornish coast, and many of the other ingredients are sourced from within Cheshire. With its open fireplace and hunting trophies, Piste is decorated in a style that could be described as homey. The menu, too, features classic, tasty fare like slow roasted meats and fish and chips, and more adventurous palates will enjoy dishes like the Thai style crab cakes.
