Great place. Wifi was excellent. Very small room with twin beds. Nowhere for suitcase but clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Breakfast a little late at 08:00 for getting an early start walking the next day. Pub and food good.

Certainly my favourite. Located at the junction of Borrowdale and the Langstrath valley. Surrounded by beautiful fells and crags. Four real ales on tap - Jeenings and Keswick brewery at the moment and good selection malt whiskies. Food is fairly good for a pub, especially the chips! Friendly staff and a good fire in the winter months. Always worth a... More

The setting of the Langstrath really is second to none: halfway up one of the most beautiful valleys in England, with a lovely beer garden (look out for the red squirrels) and great views out and down the valley from the restaurant. The rooms are fairly compact but decorated to a high standard, plentiful hot water in the ensuite bathrooms,... More

Great choice of beers and ale,the pub had a fantastic atmosphere, all walkers and dogs welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful, we had a good laugh with them. We ate there on the saturday night, we were advised to book from the man at the campsite up the road. Lucky we did, it was busy, but still a good... More

We took a huge risk having never visited before and met friends that we hadn't seen for years for a well overdue catch up. Well, the place surpassed our expectations and the food rapidly became a talking point. It really was top notch. They've a very popular bar at the front of the building which was buzzing with hillwalkers and... More

Enjoyed a lunch with the family here at Easter 2017. Staff were warm and welcoming and the food was good home made 'pub food'. Beer was pretty good as well. Just what's needed at the end of the hike in a nice traditional pub.

Proper English comfort food done very well at reasonable prices. Very local food which was exactly what we had been hoping for. We found it just by accident stopped for a drink and stayed for dinner. Staff were lovely. Prices really reasonable.

We had a great lunch here today, pie, sandwiches, coleslaw and welsh rarebit to die for... and the chips!! Plentiful and ideal to share. Topped off with a large table, fire on, good service, dog friendly and real ale. Would definitely return :-)

This was our second visit to this fabulous pub. Friendly service and great food. We all had the lamb, a hearty and delicious choice.

Well 4th day of sunshine and we decided to head to the Borrowdale Valley for a 'light lunch'. However as soon as we walked into the bar and looked at the menu we realised that a large lunch was in the offing. Shepherds Pie was ordered swiftly and soon brought to our table. It looked delicious and tasted even more... More
