Went here for breakfast and found a very nice, calm atmosphere. The breakfast menu was interesting, offering a range and quality of dishes not normally seen at a pub. The food was not cheap but you get what you pay for, including unlimited filter coffee.

Good wholesome hearty food, can recommend the ham hock pie which was delicious. Good variety on the menu, welcoming friendly staff, great service. Highly recommend a visit.

The steak and ale pie was the best I ever had. We had dinner here several times during our week in Sedbergh. The fresh and locally produced food, beautifully presented and friendly service made us return.

Stopped in for Sunday lunch and everything was terrific. Food and drinks (good selection of draught beers) all delicious, service excellent and surroundings very pleasant and cosy. Will definitely be back.

We struggle on rating this hotel. First, our room was a cottage about a block from the hotel, so our review may not reflect the experience of others. Our cottage was spacious, but in need of some repairs. However, overall it exceeded our expectations as...More

Really pleasant pub, good beer and friendly staff. They were busy so the slow service was perhaps excusable.Six of us ate and drank here, I had the steak pie which was good but pricey (£15.95), the others ordered large haddock and chips: again at £15.95....More
